    Girl Meets Girl

I went and saw Mrs. Jones and reviewed her file and talked with her a bit. She had been in a car accident and broke her elbow; I wanted to make sure she could use her elbow so it wouldn’t get lazy. Then we moved onto more therapy. After a while, she got tired so we stopped for the moment. I popped by a couple times to make sure she was doing her exercises.

I checked in on Ms. Lerner, I had explained to her about her therapy. She was very impressed that I was able to communicate without the help of her interpreter Tom. She wasn’t shy about making a pass at me, to which I was flattered but not interested. I helped her with her therapy for a bit before stopping once she was tired.

I went to lunch a little bit after that. I had to do some paperwork, but I wanted to have a full stomach so I could concentrate. I went down the cafeteria and weighed my options.

“What’s good,” I heard and I turned around.

“Hey,” I said and gave Alice a hug. Alice worked in patient services, checking patients in in the emergency room.

“I don’t know, I think I’m gonna have the veggie burrito.”

“Yuck that sounds horrible, I might get the cheeseburger and fries,” she said her eyes lighting up.

    “Heart attack waiting to happen.”

“Ehh, at least I’ll die full and satisfied,” she said and laughed.

“Hey, so you guys just get here,” we heard as Shane was walking up.

    “Yeah.”

“Sweet, I’ll eat with ya,” she said and went to get food. She was a chef in the cafeteria and had only been working here for about a month. This hospital was testing out a new menu and a better way of serving tasty food to the patients, guests and employees. Alice and I got into line to pay when Tina and Eric walked up.

“Hey Bette,” I heard and turned to meet the blue eyes of my love.

“Hey,” I said as Eric crept up next to her, my heart sank as I realized he was Tina’s husband.

“Veggie burrito,” I said and smiled at Eric.

“Yeah, Tina is always trying to get me to eat better.”
