GETTING TO THE GOOD PART—Ch. 3
***************************************
(Present—morning @ the beach)
Tina felt someone sidle up to her.
“Sweetie you look like you have some heavy thoughts running through your head. Where’s that pretty smile that kept popping up on your face yesterday?”
Tina smiled at her best friend. “The smile you’re referring to is mixed up with a lot of emotions that I’m still trying to sort out.”
Carmen took Tina’s hand pulling it slightly so Tina was facing her. “Did you meet someone?”
Tina’s smile brightened briefly before she managed to suppress it. “Sort of.”
“Oh come on you know I’m gonna need some more details then that.”
Tina smiled shaking her head slightly at her friend’s excitement. “Yesterday Peggy had a business lunch here with Bette Porter. She’s the art director at the CAC and she’s…” Tina was smiling brightly as she looked down at her hands. “…stunningly attractive and utterly adorable.”
Carmen was smiling widely her eyebrows raised in amusement. “She…wow god for you honey. So did you get her number?”
“No it wasn’t like that—I mean yes I found her attractive…”
“How could you not, according to you she’s ‘stunningly attractive and utterly adorable’.”
Tina playfully nudged Carmen. “She is but I don’t know anything about her…she might not even be interested.”
“Sweetie she’d be crazy not to be interested but the real question is, are you interested in her?”
Carmen saw some hesitancy in Tina’s eyes. “It’s okay if you are. Sweetie you shouldn’t feel guilty about being attracted to someone…and your Ms. Porter sounds really hot.”
Tina smirked as she looked back at Carmen. “She is—but I’m not even at a place where I’m ready to date anyone especially someone as gorgeous as Bette she probably has women throwing themselves at her.”
“How exactly do you know that she prefers the company of women?” Carmen said as she grinned at her blushing friend.
“I didn’t check up on her if that’s what you’re asking. Peggy was telling me about her over dinner, and she let it slip that Bette has a reputation as a sort of female lothario.”

“With great effort Bette threw the envelope into the wastebasket.” aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh … . on a positive note, i just LOVE this story and the way it’s unfolding. hope i’m not first.
I know that envelope had better not stayed in that trashcan…what is Bette thinking? I think they all need to meet up at whatever club Tina & Carmen are going to. More please I love this story.
love this T and yes try to keep them away from each other for a little while.. but they soon will meet again.please! p.p.s.
i’m in love!!! post again soon please……thanx……
OK – so how long is it going to take Bette to look inside the envelope – and find an original Kennard!
Oh, nooooo! Toribio, I can’t believe you did it to me again! Jeez, I know it’s going to happen, and still I dive head first into it!… Yes indeed, you HAVE done it, you’ve made me addicted to this story, just like you’ve made me to “A helping hand…”… Arrgghhh… Okay, I guess that’s what talent is all about… No, seriously, I know you don’t have too much time, and I should be just happy that you decided to continue this story, but I’m gonna have to have an update of this in a near future, this is soooooooo good! And I think we all need Bette and Tina to see each other again… Okay, well, I guess this means Thank you for another brillant tale! Please come back soon.
so good, so intriguing…i hope they will all meet at the club and after that won’t be able to stay away from each other
We all know as soon as Bette views the picture, now safely in her desk drawer, she will realize the true identity of “Kennard.” I am certain that That Tina’s style runs through all her work, no matter what the medium may be. Make her look at it soon. PPS.
She should open it up because it just might give her a hint that Kennard is Tina. The style and the possible subject matter may lead Bette in the right direction.
Between the pursuit of the elusive Kennard and the romantic slant of it, I’m not sure which aspect’s got me hooked more. I really enjoy reading this story.
lovely
ARG! SO good! But why is it not longer?! ;) Sorry, just can’t get enough of this story.
Hope Bette will call Tina after she open the letter,or envelope. Love this I believe Bette will turn Tinas world up side down. If Helena finds out that is when the dyke drama will come in thanks

Love it. Thank you.
This is a really good story…and I so enjoy reading it
really enjoying this ride…
Toribio, Another wonderful installment to this charming and delightful story. It is so full of near misses and almosts that is could be cynical however given your light and gentle touch it is full of hope and inspiration. Bette and Tina have both been hit by a bolt of lightening and are now trying to find out what the hell it was and ahow it has changed them. Good to see that Alice is still the one with her foot in her mouth syndrome particularly around Bette’s love life. What you captured brilliantly was the group conversation as all the characters had their own voice and story to tell. Good to see that TIna has Carmen and Jamie to provide her with the truth and to try to get her to leave the santuary of the Peabody mansion and live a little. Thank you for painting such a bright and hopeful pisture. I love it. Much gratitude from your Loyal Fan.
I didn’t think I would like the Bette and Tina cool down you mentioned, but what do I know? I’m totally digging it!! :D
