    Jackie pushed her naked body into the woman pressing her up against the concrete shower wall. The water was pouring down on both of them as she held the blade against the thin woman’s throat then moved it to her cheek. The woman was a head shorter than Jackie and didn’t have her upper body

    Jackie pushed her naked body into the woman pressing her up against the concrete shower wall. The water was pouring down on both of them as she held the blade against the thin woman’s throat then moved it to her cheek. The woman was a head shorter than Jackie and didn’t have her upper body strength but she made a defensive move anyway to push her away. Jackie’s swipe of the knife caught her on the cheek. She put her hands to her face and felt the blood. When she removed it the water washed the blood from her fingers and it swirled down the drain.

    The first cut wasn’t deep but the action enraged the already deranged prisoner who had nothing to lose. What started out as a routine threat against the newbie quickly exploded into a full blown attack. Jackie’s assault had been focused on the woman’s face and upper body. Fortunately the knife didn’t pierce any vital organs but the injuries were severe and life threatening as she could easily have bled to death.

    Billie watched Jackie as she calmly bent to pick up the soap that was still on the floor. She soaped her body and hair then stood under the shower head to rinse off the blood splatter and to wash the knife. Jackie shut off the water and Billie handed her a towel. They both walked out of the communal showers carelessly leaving their latest victim naked and unconscious in a pool of blood forming on the shower’s concrete flooring. It would be hours before anyone would miss the redhead and know to come looking.

    Tina gave Bette a peck on the cheek, un-wrapped her arms and got out of the bed. She used the bathroom and changed into her running gear. She tiptoed out of the bedroom; grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge, her iPod, cell phone and house keys from the table by the front door and headed out. Tina loved the solitude that running afforded her. Mostly she would just let her thoughts run free but if she had anything weighing heavily on her mind she used this alone time to sort it out.

    This morning her mind was on Kelly Wentworth. She hadn’t seen Kelly since the trial and although the betrayal was unforgivable she couldn’t help but regret the loss of a friend; moreover a sister. She now considered Alice, Kit and Shane as her newfound extended family but it wasn’t the same as Kelly with whom she’d grown up from early childhood. She missed having Kelly in her life. On this day she contemplated visiting with Kelly in order to test the waters. Tina never wanted to see or hear from Jodi ever again but she didn’t think she could completely cut off communication with Kelly; not for the next twenty years or so but was it too soon to make contact?
