Tina smiled, warmed with how close Bette was to her. It was welcomed intimacy in their busy lives. A little down time would do them both some good.
“Piñata!!!!”
Or not.
The laughing scream from the other side of the gallery had them both laughing softly to themselves. Tina just smoothed her hands over Bette’s arms and looked down to the counter. “Hey baby, you want some?”
“Mmm,” Bette purred teasingly into her ear, breathing the heat onto her neck. “Yeah, I want some.”
Tina got chills, but tried to keep a sense of humor about it. “Very funny.”
“Who’s laughing?”
Laughter was inescapable in reaction to Bette’s tone. She wasn’t usually so intimate in public – Bette hated public displays of affection, so Tina just had to laugh out of confusion. “Have you already hit the bar, or what?”
Bette smiled onto her shoulder, “I’m sorry hunny … it’s just so hard to be here with you … seeing you in this dress …” She moved her hands up Tina’s stomach, but stopped before her chest to drop them again, “… And not be allowed to be close to you. You’re so beautiful.”
“Aww,” Tina smiled, feeling really special with the way Bette spoke to her. “That was really sweet baby.”
“I try.”
Before Bette could be tempted to kiss Tina’s neck, they were both waved over to watch Alice take her turn with the piñata. She had the blindfold on and the stick in her hand as some of her friends ran in to keep the stick from meeting their heads in a fit of giggles. “Alice! We still have to spin you!”
“No way! I hate that part!”
“Oh wow,” Bette chuckled, “I see nothing’s changed …”
Tina was still slightly affected by Bette’s touched, but tried to ignore the feeling. She smiled at the decorations and felt that Angelica would probably feel right at home. And while Tina couldn’t have brought Angelica because there would be alcohol, drunk women, and X-rated toys as gifts in all probability, she still missed her. It was hard sometimes, to leave her with a babysitter.
“Wow, Angie would love this,” Bette chuckled, unknowingly speaking Tina’s thoughts.
“You miss her too?” Tina beamed, “I thought I was crazy. I mean, I know we should enjoy an adult’s night every now and then, but-”

Seriously, so good. Bette is caught in limbo between her former life and her current life’s predicaments. It’s funny how she is judging herself (married Bette) about the possibilty of her wandering eye while in a committed relationship with Tina, despite her true past of just leaving Tina w/o explanation. What’s worse? Man, the inner turmoil is palpable. Great story, Bi!!
This story is so much deeper than the movie. I like the way Bette criticizes her married self. Also the fact that she can’t figure out -yet- what is that Tina wants to hear, but hopes that “in time” she will. She already is thinking future with Tina. Has she realized it? This story is the best Xmas highlight so far. (keeping my hopes up though..)
HI biissexi, I am so loving this tale. Bette’s confusion over everyday evnets and conversations is so funny. LOL moment aplenty. It is so sweet to read how close and intimate Bette and Tina are being at the party especially as Bette has been fearful of taking things to far to quickly with Tee. Candace really is the fly in the ointment here so I hope Bette squishes her completely. Alice was fun and typically lound and over the top. Perfect! I do hope she fills Bette in on more of her recent past with Tina and Angelica as Bette was heading to destruction with Candace leading the way. I can’t wait to read more so please post soon. Uh oh indeed! Since Aluce seems to know what’s going why won’t she provide Bette some background on her life , work , etc? Bette’s having a lot of close calls w/ Tina and I’m thinking one of her mishaps will end up with a very mad or confused Tina. Congrats on being done with éxams and thanks for the story update. Happy to see you made it thru exams. Congrats. Now a little R&R before you are thrown once more into the fray. When Bette said she wanted a little fresh air, I thought, OH hell, not now, Candace is watching for her moment. Sure ’nuff there the b***h is. Hope Bette will walk right past her and back inside very quickly before Tina comes and finds them. Maybe she can extricate herself before everything goes awry. Great update. I’m really enjoying this story. It’s a great take on a really good movie. Very inspired idea — gotta love the Bette twist on the Nicolas Cage role.
