    Author Notes:

    Based loosely on the movie “Family Man” – Bette wakes up to a life she doesn’t recognize.

    "Tina?" Bette cautiously poked Tina’s side, afraid they had both gone mentally insane overnight and needed serious intervention. What did all of this mean?

    "Alright alright," Tina groaned, hoisting herself up to sit as she looked down at the floor as she rubbed her eyes with fatigue. "I’m up."

    Bette sat up too. ‘Is there some sort of unspoken routine? What the hell do I do now? Should I be glad she’s getting up?‘

    Suddenly, before Bette could voice any of her concerns, she heard someone running in the hall, and she just stared at the door. Then a little voice came singing into the room.

    "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!"

    Bette quickly moved over toward the pillow when the little girl jumped up onto the bed. ‘Who is this child and why have we kidnapped her? Why is there even a ‘we’ to begin with?!‘ Bette couldn’t even seem to ask the right questions, never mind answer them. She just sat in utter confusion while Tina spoke to the girl.

    "Uhh!" Tina chuckled as the three-year-old dove into her lap. "You’re gonna be too big for this soon," she teased, picking Angelica up and smiling up at her excited little face. "Good morning.”

    "Eggs?" Angelica asked with a big smile, her two hands clapped together.

    "I’ve got more than that," Tina laughed, picking Angelica up into her arms as she got off the bed. "Can you make Angelica’s lunch for daycare?" Then she turned back to Angelica. "Oh, kids." She just loved children, and especially her beautiful daughter.

    "There’s more? How many do we have?" She heard the words coming out before she could stop them, as strange as the question seemed.

    "Just the one," Tina teased before walking over to put her hand over Bette’s forehead. The usually warm temperature under her palm made her shake her head with laughter, before walking out of the room with her daughter on her hip. "I think Mommy’s coming down with something, hey Angie?"

    "Mommy looks scared," Angelica observed, comfortable in her mother’s arms.

    "Well, it is a Monday."

    The joke was lost on Bette, because she was already too confused and far too afraid. What was happening, and who was she? After sitting for another moment and deciding that this was in fact real, she quickly raced to the nearest mirror. The bathroom wasn’t far, and she was content to see that she recognized herself in the mirror.

    20. The Family Man has always been one of my favorite films, one of my “go-to” movies to cheer up. I always thought it would make a great adaptation for an LW fic, so I’m glad someone’s taken it up. Good start! :)

    21. Great to have you back Bi. I saw Family Man and it was a strange movie for me. I guess I just didn’t pay attention. I’m sure this story will be better since I know and love the characters. Thanks for taking the time.
