Expedition of the Heart – Full Story
“Very good,” Marina responded impressed with Cecilia’s attention to detail. “Yours is a little harder to place.”
“That’s because it’s not my native accent,” Cecilia said with a hint of teasing in her voice as she leaned back in toward Marina as if she were talking about a conspiracy.
“Really?” Marina questioned as she felt her body lean in closer to the dark haired woman. Their faces were now just inches apart.
“Yes… I spent five years in northern Africa and I just picked it up. I do that sometimes.” Marina watched the woman speak and took in her overall appearance. She had full lips with perfectly white teeth that showed when she smiled. Her skin was very tan and there were small laugh lines around her eyes. Her face held signs of an American Indian heritage and her long, thick hair curled softly down her back. She had a very natural beauty that didn’t rely on makeup to enhance it. Marina was amazed at the youthfulness that the woman exuded even though she guessed her age in the mid-thirties. She was also amazed at her immediate reaction to Cecilia’s presence. “I’ve only been back for six months.”
“That’s someplace I haven’t been yet. Egypt… and the Nile! Why were you there?” Marina questioned.
“I’m an archeologist. I’ve been working on a project that’s taking several years and I decided I needed a vacation. I’m staying with friends until I go back.”
“Hmmmm… very interesting what are you working on?”
“Are you really interested or are you just being nice?” Cecilia asked with a soft smile.
“I’m really interested! I love antiques and ancient artwork!” Marina answered trying to sound mildly offended but teasing at the same time.
“Well… we’re working on finding ancient trade routes to provide proof that there was active trading in the area long before previously thought.”
“Have you found what you’ve been looking for?” Cecilia couldn’t help but feel that there was double meaning in Marina’s question… intended or not.
“We’ve made some pretty interesting discoveries, but only time and persistence will get us to where we want to be.” Suddenly, each woman was acutely aware of the other and they weren’t sure if the conversation was about Cecilia’s work or something else. There was a brief silence before Marina asked another question.

Wow this story is longe and it took me 6 houses to read, the story is excellent and love it. Thanks for the awesome story and hope to see you soon, thanks!
What a great story and by the way, I loved the floor plan of the house! I have said this in the past and will restate it again here. I don’t know how many times I have started reading a fan fic story, really start getting into it and the writer just drops it. I go back day after day looking to she if the author has posted. Now I only read the consistant writers, those ladies that are committed to finishing what they start. I am glad that you fall into that catigory as obviously, you are very talented. Thank you for your contribution to our reading pleasure. I am looking forward to your future works. Sometimes I wonder if it wouldn’t be best if the stories that get posted were only of finished works. I know that I will get some flack for that statement but, would it not be better than having a bunch of unfinished work on this site? JMHO.Thank you again for a very will written story.
