    "Katharine Hepburn?"

    “Pants.”

    “Joey Lawrence?”

    “Bald.”

    “Pirates?”

    “Savvy.”

    “Maserati?”

    “Lotus.”

    “Breasts?”

    “Silky.”

    “Jodi Lerner?”

    “Unimportant.”

    “Alice Pieszecki?”

    “Staunch.”

    “Bette Porter?”

“Er…she’s…I… One bloody word isn’t enough.”

“I win,” Alice yelled throwing her arms up as she bounced on the couch.

    “You cheated,” Helena accused her.

“I didn’t. Just because you can’t find a word to describe Bette isn’t my problem.”

“But I told you not to bring her up. It’s a stupid game anyway, Alice.”

“And why couldn’t I bring her up? And the game isn’t stupid. You’re a sore loser,” Alice said leaning into Helena with a grin.

Helena shifted away from Alice trying and failing to look innocent.

“I think someone has a crush,” Alice intoned pouncing on Helena. “Someone’s crushing on Bette Porter! And it isn’t me!”

Helena let Alice squeeze her into bear hug.

“I do not have a crush.”

“Right,” Alice drew out the word and flung herself back onto her side of the couch.

    “I don’t.”

“So was I having hallucinations when I saw you and Bette at The Planet? On a date?”

“Angelica was there too. And just because we had a quasi-date doesn’t mean I have a crush on her. Because I don’t.”

“Whatever. I know what I saw and so does Bette.”

Helena turned to stare at Alice.

“What does that mean?” she inquired sharply.

“It means what it means,” Alice said with a shrug.

“Oh, Alice,” Helena sighed. “Let’s not play word games.”

    “Then admit it.”

“I like Bette. I don’t have a crush on her.”

“But you used too,” Alice insisted.

    Helena sighed.

“Maybe. In the distant past. In some form there could have been feelings that could have displayed themselves as a…crush.”

“Well I never!” Alice said loudly in a high squeaky voice.

Helena laughed covering her face with her hands.

“Don’t be embarrassed. Everyone’s had a crush on Bette. And I mean everyone. Except for Jenny. And of course Kit. But other than that. Everyone has crushed on Bette at one point in time.”

“This is not shocking to you?” Helena asked cautiously.

“Surprised? Yes. Shocked? No. I’m just surprised that it took this long actually. Because for awhile there we were all sure you two would either kill eachother or fuck like crazy. But when nothing like that happened we just assumed it was laying dormant and simmering beneath the surface.”

    1. OMG! (Does best Nicole Richie impersonation) That IS so cute! You’re making them seem like teenagers! I can imagine them acting like that with each other. It’s a different, softer side to them, and it’s really really fitting and enjoyable to read! ;)

    2. I go away for a week, I come back and you’re posting again! I love these new random chapters you’re posting; Alice is so funny. Annoying for Helena, but funny for us. And look at Bette using her smooth talk – hot! pps!

    3. “Quick to the Batmobile! Helena’s telling a lie and only the lasso of truth will set her free!” >>> Hahahah! you made me laugh, and I was NOT expecting to laugh! Hehehe. Its all very cute indeed. I like it. You have a flair for making it adorable and sexy. Keep ’em coming, Speedy (ok THAT sounded better in MY head too)
