    CHAPTER ONE: AFTER THREE YEARS BETTE AND TINA MEET AGAIN.HOW WILL TINA RESPOND.

    To Tina’s horror ,she felt her nipples pouting as though obeying a softly spoken command. Why hadn’t she left on her jacket.

    “You’re looking well,Tina”

    “Thank you”

    “But then, you always did,” Bette said quickly, as if Tina hadn’t spoken.

    Tina made a busy project of thumbing through the folders Kate had brought in to her earlier that morning. “I have a full schedule today, Bette .What_____”

    “That’s funny,” Bette interrupted ,arching an eyebrow in the manner that caused havoc in the hearts of women. Your secretary said your calendar was open today. That’s why she granted me this interview without an appointment”

    Tina’s jaw ached from the way she held it clenched. Putting down an urge to to lash out at her that ,her calendar was none of her damn business, she asked tightly, “Is there trouble with how we’re handling one of your client’s account?”

    “No. none at all”, Bette said ,unbuttoning her jacket. Bette’s casual posture increased Tina’s vexation. If her heart was pounding and her hands were growing slippery with perspiration, the least Bette could do was look a little bit discomposed. Uppermost in Tina’s mind the thought that Bette mustn’t know how she bothered her. But she probable did know. She knew the devastating effect she had on women, and used it ruthlessly. No doubt she remembered the night Tina succumbed…

    “Are you familiar with ISLAND BREEZE?” Bette’s question whipped her back to the present.

    “ISLAND BREEZE? Yes”

    “Miss Schectler is handling the account?”

    “She’s very good,” Tina came to the defense of her employee

    “Yes she is, she’s a very charming woman.”

    Tina could well imagine how “charming” Bette found her.

    “But she’s young and doesn’t inspire the confidence Matt Bryant needs at this point”

    “Your’e referring to the developer of ISLAND BREEZE

    “Yes,he’s dissatisfied with his account.”

    If you are personally in charge of his account Bette,i’m sure there can’t be any serious problems”

    “Mr. Bryant needs a second opinion. A consultation, if you will.” Bette leaned forward in her chair, “I want you personally to handle the account for ISLAND BREEZE.”

    Their eyes locked and held over her desk top, and for a moment they weren’t talking about ISLAND BREEZE. Instead Tina was drawn back in time to the night that Bette had pinned her against the wall of a gazebo and said, “ I- want you to kiss me and then tell me that you love Henry”

    1. I dont know if I should laugh or cry. Bette is so sure of hersekf,and so in love with Tina. With Bette,Tina is like a bowl of Jello. She is married and to Henry yet she can’t forget Bette. Poor Tina. No children I hope. You have a winner her.Lets read more soon

    3. Definitely an interesting start. I’m curious about the past history between Tina and Bette since it seems different than what we know from the show. It must have been quite intense to make Tina react so deeply about seeing Bette. Nice writing style, very elegant. I’d like to read more of this story, a lot more.

    10. So much fear in Tina…it’s heartbreaking to see someone go through that kind of pain, the pain of denial, fear of acceptance, not wanting to hurt Henry who she loves. Bette’s confidence was bordering on arrogance. This was a great start…looking forward to the next chapter! Thanks!
