Alice’s Apartment
Alice Pieszecki hadn’t been born with the virtue of patience. Waiting, when there was nothing else to occupy herself with, was boring. She had pretty much finished her next article, it just needed a little editing and a proof read and it was ready to be on Mark’s desk first thing next week. She sat glancing around the living room for her next task. She could clean, do some dishes, sort out her filing cabinet…or not. The laptop was snapped shut and Alice stood up, quickly checking her hair out in the reflection, then deciding it was a lost cause as she grabbed her car keys.
The Planet
Alice sauntered in knowing none of her friend’s would be there, they all had ‘jobs’ to go to and didn’t have the autonomy that she had being a journalist with a small column who could work from home. She took a seat at the bar and ordered with a young waitress in her early twenties who was pretty freakin’ cute Alice thought. The girl apparently had the same opinion of Alice, slipping the blonde her phone number as well as her double shot latte. Alice was a little taken aback at the boldness of the cute raven-haired girl, evidently called Casey, who was currently flashing a cheeky grin at her. Alice half smiled back thinking that if she wasn’t currently attached she’d be asking what time this girl got off work but Dana meant a lot more to her than some one night hook up.
It was at this point that Dana felt she had seen enough. Standing outside The Planet and peering in through the glass, she had spotted Alice sitting there before she entered and was innocently admiring her until that bitch started hitting on her girlfriend. Dana could feel the rage begin to rise as she watched the barista pass Alice a piece of paper, obviously her phone number and had seen Alice smile back at the girl encouraging her.
As Dana turned around a sudden shot of deja vu hit her. She was making the exact same presumption about Alice as she had on their first date. Did she really not trust attractive girls around the writer or was it Alice that she didn’t trust? Her girlfriend had given her absolutely no reason not to be trusted and the more Dana thought about it the sillier it seemed. Feeling embarrassed and ashamed once again, she turned around and walked up to the entry, determined to do the adult thing and talk her partner.

WTH?! 2 chapters and no sex. LOL! Great stuff and it’s nice to see the emotional progression between the two of them. I am loving these little vignettes and the pace you’re cranking them out! I’ll be eagerly awaiting the next installment – “Dana Eats Crow” perhaps…?
Yes, go you! I think you may a better grasp than Dana on why she is so jealous – maybe. Would it be scary is she had a better grasp than you? hmmm… She’s made the decision to do the mature thing – to go into the Planet and talk to Alice. Will something stop her from making it inside? Is Gabby already in the Planet, getting ready to go visit with Alice? Will Dana knock her out? I’d better stop there because you know what they say about curiosity and the cat … look at Mr. Piddles …
I hope they work it out and Dana gets un-jealous (i know thats not a word but i dont care). And hopefully Alice doesnt keep the number to be found by Dana later. That would be bad. PPS

Soooooo…you’re kinda having them switch roles from what was shown on the show, eh? I have to admit I’m intrigued by it, but if you have Dana get all pill-popping crazy I shall disown you and any future stories/chapters you post, up to and possibly including the smut. (Which is a grand idea, by the way). I need to get posting, I think. It’s been like two weeks now and you’re making me feel incredibly lazy, miss I-post-two-chapters-a-night-on-a-regular-basis.
It’s great to see that Dana’s trying to at least cope with her jealousy rather than ignore Alice anymore, which means they’re getting one step closer to ‘peachy-ness’, right? Well, anyway thanks for the two posts in one day:) And like always can’t wait for more.PPS!Excellent Update!
Good for Alice not calling first–she did nothing wrong, Dana should totally make the first move. I do love jealous Dana, but she needs to stop jumping to conclusions and talk to her girlfriend. Anyway, I loved the updates…and 2 in 1 night? You’re putting me to shame my dear!
