“That’s it?” asked Jenny as she crossed one leg under her ass and leant on the table.

“Yup”, replied Alice sadly taking another drink hoping the cup would hide her eyes that were becoming teary from the situation.

“Wow I never thought Dana would be the jealous type”.

“She usually isn’t Bette, we can go anywhere and it’s like there’s just us two in the whole room, she doesn’t care about any other girls but I dunno…Gabby just seems to get under her skin”.

Bette watched her friend adorn a distant look and wished she could reassure the usually quick-witted bubbly blonde in front of her. This wasn’t the Alice and Dana she knew, maybe becoming a couple wasn’t the best thing for them after all, it’s easier to be lovers then friends rather than the other way round. She knew this relationship would either make them or break them and she hoped to God it wasn’t the latter.

“Do you want a friendship with Gabby?” Tina asked praying the answer was no since she despised the bitch that Alice used to date.

“Hell no! It’s been a total coincidence seeing her these past few months, I thought she had moved to New York, well that’s what I heard anyway”.

“So what are you going to do about this?” asked Jenny placing a supportive hand on Alice’s shoulder.

“Honestly? I have no fucking idea, talk to her I guess, try and make her see that I love her and only her and try not to fuck it all up though I’m not sure it can get worse”.

Bette chuckled at her friend, they’d had one fight, if you could even call it that, and already Alice was turning on the dramatics thinking the world was going to end.

“Alice honey, you’ve hit a glitch in your relationship, it’s not the end of the world as we know it. It can be fixed, you just have to communicate with Dana, explain how you feel about Gabby, which is nothing, and you don’t even want a platonic friendship with the woman so Dana has nothing to be jealous over. I’m extremely positive that you’ll talk tonight and it will be water under the bridge before our party”.

For someone who wasn’t Yoda, Bette did have some wise words.

“Wow, someone has been reading way too many fortune cookies, I thought you were saving for the baby, not spending it all on Chinese”, cracked Alice, obviously cheered up and again feeling some form of hope after the talk.

The girls just laughed; pleased to see that Alice’s sense of humour was still evident.
