Dare to Dream – A Tibette Beginning – Ch 58

“Tina what do you think your biggest challenge will be?” Nicole asked.

“Time… Colin and I have grown very close… We have one afternoon a week that is just for us. He is worried once the baby is here I won’t have time for our special time anymore. He understands for the first few months we might not get to go every week, but I really want to be able to keep that up with him.”

“You are able to take time off work like that?”

“Yes I am… I am actually based from home and only have to go into the studio a few times a week for meetings.”

    “Wow… what about you Bette?”

“I own my own gallery, and have a very capable Gallery Manager. I go in when I want to, and take on only what projects I want to do myself. I do limit myself to most four hours a day when the kids are at school, with rare exception. Being home with them is extremely important to me… to both of us. We are lucky to be in a position to be able to do it, there is no way either of us would miss the opportunity.”

Nicole was a little shocked. They were truly lucky to be in the position they were in, but the kids were the real lucky ones. These women truly wanted to be a part of their children’s lives. In these days that is a rare gift.

“So tell be about the kids activities?”

“Well obviously they are all in school” Tina started. “Skyler plays soccer, softball, and goes to a tumbling class.”

“So she is your little jock?”

“Definitely” Bette added “Hailey plays soccer as well, takes dance lessons, and occasionally sings with my sister, she recently started an art class as well and seems to be enjoying it.”

    “Your sister?”

“Um… yes.. my sister… Kit Porter.”

    “Your sister is Kit Porter?”

    “Yes”

    “Wow.. she is very talented.”

“Yes she is… and she loves the kids to pieces.”

“I’m sorry” Nicole was a bit embarrassed by her starstruck moment. “Please continue about the children’s activities”

    1. It’s such an amazing chapter, and I love the way they are so confident and so comfortable with each other and with the social worker. It’s difficult to have this visit to many people, I mean we had seen how it can be when the parents are not very comfortable with each other like B&T were. I am looking forward for the next one. Love

    2. I think you described very well social worker visit for an adoption. everything you made Bette and Tina do was ok and the social worker asked the right questions. So you are rock. PPVS

    3. Sweet 513, very sweet, social worker dose not equal bad but the unknown can shake you nerves sometime, in fact most times when something is so important. I thnk Ms. Jenkins is going to walk away a little green from envy. Thank you, Md

    4. You are doing a fantastic job writing this story. The social worker dialogue is on point and you have her reacting very well with everything. I have been thru an adoption home visit and we got along very well also. You are doing a great job keep it up. I agree with Md, the social worker might just be a little envious when it’s all completed. Bette and Tina are in an envious position to be financially secure enough to have this family at this timeand be very comfortably able to afford all that they do. Great chapter. PPS
