    Another trip to the doctor…

    “My sister has my son today… I will call and see if she can come get the girls too.”

    “Perfect. I have one more patient scheduled after Hailey. I will examine her and ask Tina to wait until I am done with my last patient to talk about the test results. What will you tell her when she asks why I called you back here?”

    “I will just tell her you were giving me the don’t hurt her speech”

    “Good..Good…oh and expect to get that speech once Haily is all taken care of! Bette I want to give this to you now.” handing Bette a small pill envelope. “It’s a tranquilizer.. give this to her tonight if she needs it. It will knock her out, but she will need it!”

    “Thank you Dana… I promise I will take good care of her. May I use your phone?”

    “Of course… Bette?…” Bette looked to Dana and saw the concern in her eyes. “Bette she loves you… please don’t let her down.”

    “I love her too Dana… I promise you I won’t let her down, I will be by her side, and be her strength when she can’t be strong herself.”

    * * * * *

    “Kit I need your help” Kit instantly knew something was wrong with her sister.

    “Baby Girl what’s going on… What’s the matter”

    Bette quickly filled Kit in on the plan “Can you please help me? I need to get the girls out of here without Tina getting suspicious.”

    “Are you sure she will go for it?”

    “Yeah we will just plan to meet you guys for ice cream when we are done, but Kit I don’t think that this is going to go well. I don’t know what time I will be able to get her calmed down and get the girls. Dana seemed to think that this was going to be really bad.”

    “Baby Girl don’t you worry about the kids. I don’t have room to keep all of them here, but if need be I’ll take them over to your house and stay there with them. You just take care of your… um… Tina”

I have a feeling I know where you’re going with Hailey’s condition..and I’m hoping I’m right, because while it does suck at times (I’ve dealt with it since I was a kid too), it’s not strictly speaking life-threatening…anyway, looks like B&T’s paths crossed at the right time, whatever comes their way, they’ll now have an amazing family base :)

    8. I hope that it isn’t Leukemia, I don’t know how the poor Tina will handle such news, it’s good that Bette is with her. Thanks Ti you are great. Post soon.

    9. I just had to catch up from not reading for 5 days. Kids and family..taking up the time. ; ) I sure hope that Hailey is OK and glad Bette will be there for Tina

    11. Aw, man, I hope it turns out to be something different.. They’re just getting started and we want a lot more of this group as a family, especially if Bette turns out to be pregnant.

    12. Oh the possibilities with this saga are endless and even if Hailey has leukemia it need not be life threatening but an adjustment in their lives. Bette will be that pillar of strength that Tina needs and all the love ofrom Bette and the extended family to help them thru. But let’s hope that she really doesn’t have it, maybe just a severe case of anemia which can also make you bone tired and lethargic. Red meat is good for it but a daily dose of iron for the rest of her life is probably what she needs if it is anemia. I know, been there done that. Still take it after more than 40 yrs. Great story. PPS
