Coming up for air – part fifteen
Wednesday Tina called Bette to tell her, she had a lead on an apartment. An old colleague had called about a two bedroom flat in her building.
“Do you think you’ll have the time to take a look at this apartment with me?” Tina asked.
“Sure… when do you want to meet?” Bette said, loving the fact that Tina called her at work. It definitely brightened up her day.
“Preferably today. I can move in over the weekend if I like it. The timing couldn’t be better. And it’s close to you…” Tina said to tempt Bette further.
“Really? Well, then we should definitely make sure you get this apartment…” Bette chuckled.
Tina gave her the address and they agreed to meet at five o’clock.
Bette couldn’t find a parking spot anywhere near the building where she was going to meet Tina. She parked the car as close as possible and got out to walk the rest of the way. When she turned the corner, she stopped in her tracks. Tina was pacing the sidewalk a bit further down the road, talking on her cell. Bette felt that familiar rush of happiness and excitement at the sight. She stood still to take her in, the way her blonde hair that fell in her face, when she looked down in concentration, listening to whoever was on the phone, the slight frown Tina always did, when she was focused, the laughter and the sensual toss of her hair as she leant back in amusement of what was said on the phone. It sounded like the sweetest music to Bette. Her eyes wandered down the curve of Tina’s long slender neck to the tight t-shirt that showed off her incredible upper body, and further to the strong arms, her bicep slightly flexed as she held the cell to her ear. Not to mention that fine ass and the long toned legs. Bette couldn’t believe how much she wanted those legs wrapped around her waist. She was trembling as she pictured it in her mind.
“Damn… snap out of it already…” Bette told herself as she moved forward.
Tina lit up in a big smile, when she caught sight of Bette.
“Al, I’m gonna let you go now… Bette is here…” Tina said into the phone.
Bette watched as Tina laughed at what was probably Alice’s snappy comeback.
