Collision Course 4.81
“All right, so tell me what is going on with you and Bette?” asked Alice, as she and Tina walked down the street, eating an after lunch ice cream. Alice had finally gotten Tina to agree to the short walk down the street with her. For some reason, Tina seemed ill at ease being alone with her.
Bette had taken Angelica to work with her, there was a very colorful exhibit at the college and Bette had thought that Angelica might like the colors. Even if she didn’t understand the pictures, she knew that they were colorful. Tina had a late meeting, and when Alice asked her to go for a walk, to work off the scrumptious meal that they’d all shared, Tina had thought twice about it. It wasn’t because she didn’t want to have a moment with Alice, but because Tina was still trying to process what had happened between her and Bette, the coincidental kiss was weighing heavily on her mind. Her promise, to Jo, echoed in her mind at various times.
“What are you talking about?” asked Tina, lapping at the ice cream that dripped from her cone. “We’re just being parents to our daughter, nothing more than that.”
Alice said nothing at first, looking at Tina as they walked, “I saw a flicker of the old Bette and Tina, but with the new Bette and Tina. Don’t deny it, I saw it. I saw the whole standing close to each other thing, and I definitely saw some touching there when you two were giggling at the table.”
“The new Bette and Tina, what are you talking about?” asked Tina, more forcefully than she’d intended.
“Yeah, you know; the tough Tina Kennard and the much more docile Bette Porter. You guys have kinna changed in the last few years. You gonna give it a second shot?” asked Alice, biting into the cone, looking at Tina with her serious brown eyes.
“We did that already, Alice,” sighed Tina, spotting her car, thanking Sam’s lesbian gods that she was finally going to get away from this brief conversation. “I have a meeting to get to, and you, have a date to get to,” added Tina, with a wild smile.

Well, for once, insomnia has led to something good. Welcome back! That was some really smokin build up with Natalie and Al, loved it. I liked Alice sticking up for her… (girl?)friend with Spencer. And I see Tina is jealous, too bad. If she snoozes, she’ll lose… again. She’s lost Quin for good, and Bette is moving on. Glad you had fun, JM, and good luck with the new job. Spencer is a brat. Love Natalie and Alice that was cute and now sexy At least Alice got her in bed. Tina is jealous,but Bette is not moving on from Tina. Just trying to keep from running to Tina. Just some wee baby steps. Glad you enjoyed your vacation. Must have done you a world of good. Your writing is smooth in this chapter. Was going to say sweet,do you do sweet? Wow…dare I hope for a B&T reunion??? Cute interactions between Alice & Nat and nice touch helping Tina/Quin come full circle with their relationship. I soooo need your energy, what with the new job & all, congrats to that. Natalie & Alice were very cute together. Glad to see Natalie was just doubtful & not purposely misleading. With all the things that Spencer has faced, I tend to forget that she is a teenager prone to bitchy, childish behavior, luv what Alice had to say to her. Angelica makes me laugh, I can just picture the attitude that a child that age can give. Loved it.
Awfully calm in this chapter. Eye of the storm? Or is the joke on us–no more twists and turns–which would be the biggest twist of all!!!!
Okay, Bettyvhall just said everything I was going to! Spencer is a brat, and Alice shows a glimpse of her Yoda side, and then switches right into her sexy side! Natalie is cute when she is nervous. Tina is jealous…Bette does want Tina (in my opinion) but is stopping herself from jumping right back into it. Maybe because there is a part of her that is still in love with Jo, she doesn’t want Tina to only get a part of her heart. Yet, I think there is a part of Bette that is still in love with Tina. Besides, Bette should know that when she loves, she loves completely…not part-ways. What a nice surprise to wake up to this! Thanks!!

Hey JM, “lighthearted is moi”… not the first descriptive word that comes to mind, but I like that you are keeping up your giggle factor…too cute! Gotta love the Alice. Setting Tina straight, setting Spencer straight, and then making sure Natalie wasn’t too straight. Great chapter, even the continued B&T teasing. Today is Friday so I am anxiously awaiting your juicy morsel!
JM so glad you finally got Alice and Natalie together. Funny you had Alice remember everything. So dense Bette is! Well lets see how Bette date goes with this “new” addition to the story. Doesn’t Bette and Tina notice that their daughters conversation is a little mature considering her age?
