Collision Course 4.69 – I Dare You To Move
“In baseball, there is no crying in baseball!” laughed Tina as she hugged Shane, kissing her cheek and smiling brilliantly at Shane.
“League Of Their Own,” chimed in Quin, wrapping her arms around Tina’s waist, kissing her neck sweetly. “Stop trying to one up me,” added the tall blonde. “Hanging in there, Shane?”
“Of course,” smiled Shane. “Hey, this is a party, so let’s get to partying.”
“Always Shane,” said Bette looking around for Jo as she swung and arm around Shane, Jo’d disappeared again. Wondering what Jo had to tell her, but she’d gone off for a few minutes. Something in Jo’s eyes hadn’t been right, but Bette hadn’t pressed because Jo said that they had to have a talk, but it wasn’t anything bad, just something that had to be said.
“So when do we learn the name of this club?” asked Shane as she put a friendly arm around Carmen.
“That comes later,” said Carmen as they moved over to a very large corner table that was reserved just for them. “Right now, we’re sitting the fuck down and we’re going to enjoy.”
They seemed to have all gathered at the table, Shane, Alice, Rosita, Lara, Carmen, Bette, Tina, Helena and Quin, who got up before the lights began to dim. The only one missing was Jo. “Where is Jo?” asked Tina as she sat down next to Bette. Tina noticed that Bette looked ravishing in a pair of jeans and a crisp white men’s dress shirt that was unbuttoned, wearing a black wife beater underneath. Jo had picked out what Bette was wearing for the evening. So Bette had picked out what Jo was wearing, a pair of olive green cargo pants and a black tank that Bette had torn the bottom half off, showing off Jo’s rather sexily sculpted body.
“She’s up there,” said Shane in an odd tone, pointing to the stage as a hush began to overtake the crowd because the music had stopped and lulled them to attention.
“Evening,” said Jo into the mic her blonde hair glimmering in the light, much longer than it had been before, falling into her stormy blue eyes.

I love this story because I have to think while reading it. I can’t just read it…I have to pay attention…it is that good. Thanks!! (Glad to hear you are still writing about LA)
Wow. There’s so much going on this chapter …Jo’s illness (what could Bette do to save her that would make Jo resent B so much?), Carm’s gravitating back to Shane (it’s like a hurricane, or tornado or something. The birds have gone quiet and the cattle are hunkering down… yikes!), and Alice’s… utter bitterness (I don’t think she’s ever properly grieved for Dana. None of them have. Maybe they should.). What of Quin and Tina? Why is Helena still alone? I’m really pleased to see a chapter, and I hope the next post is soon, Janet. Merci
hey doll thiz iz the sadest thing ever but have 2 say im luvin it juzt the same! cant wait 4 the next update _ cant wait 2 c where u r gonna go with all thiz!!
So what does Bette do to save Jo. Hope she doesn’t have to marry the devil. And what is fate trying to correct, the fact that Jo should of died as a child. I hope it’s not getting Jo back with Amy and Bette with Tina. I really like Jo with Bette so this is a real bummer to see that it will end. But who knows what’s in that head of yours and how all this will turn out. PPS
Not sure I would call it 18 pages of “fun”, but certainly 18 pages of pure bittersweet pleasure! I’m always left wanting more…can’t wait to see where your twists and turns take us. Just brilliant.
THANK YOU! For finally putting Ro & Alice out of their misery & breaking them up. To have to deal w/ high-tension situations at work then come home to nagging unsupporting bs would make my freakin’ head explode. Shane is awfully June Cleavery at the moment, eh? Just wierd, but its much better than a gloomy Shane. Whatever you have planned for doomed lovebirds Bette & Jo, make fate re-write itself into a happy ending for those two. ;-) Loved it.
I look for updates to this story daily. Thanks for the update. Spencer’s one sharp cookie. So, I’m holding out hope that Jo isn’t gonna die. It’s interesting what Shane is trying to do. Having the guys help her with the kids will probably make a huge difference.
Where have I been? Bodega Bay, Portland, Bend, Eugene and I am going to Vegas on Monday for three days. No not for fun. Silly thoghts after reading – So, there are witness’ to Sam’s death, you had the best fictional pathalogist in the country id her, then creamated her and now she is a ghost. I can’t help think your still bringing her back. Joking! Jo’s not dying? I don’t know where you are going with this and that’s exciting. Last weird thought, after Shane has Justin and Sam’s kids – is she going to have Brian’s next? I see her turning into Angelina and just having as many different kids as possible.
