City Of Angels Chapter 3: The Angel Of Death

“I want to help you Dana.” She said softly as she continued to stroke the former Tennis player’s hair. Eventually Dana’s wailing simmered down to just plain silent sobs as she sat up and looked Camilla right into her dark brown eyes.

“You know why you are back don’t you?” Camilla asked. She placed her hands gently onto Dana’s heaving shoulders as her breathing began to subside a little.

“Yes…” Dana said exhaustedly. The entire ordeal took a lot out of her emotionally and physically. But soon her energy returned to her, along with the wanting, no the thirst and the hunger for vengeance. Slowly fire started to build up in her and all the sorrow and pity was transformed into rage.

“To find them all. And make them pay…”

Dana looked at her self in the mirror; her tattered clothing was replaced by fresh new clothes. Not the colorful resort club style clothing that she normally wears. No, that Dana Fairbanks was dead. She died a year ago with her departed lover. The Dana that she was looking at was dressed in a pair of dark black jeans and a matching tight jet black t-shirt.

Instead of her usual white tennis shoes she opted for the black motorcycle boots that she kept deep in her closet.

Just one more thing was needed. Her face, she no longer wanted people to see her face. She was the new angel of death, and she had to look the part. She grabbed a handful of facial paint that was used last year by her in a Halloween costume. She smeared it all over her face to cover up the anguish and sorrow that her enemies might see. Her newly painted face was now white as a wandering ghost. But something was still missing. The tears that symbolized her burning sorrow. She wanted her enemies to not only fear death, but to look upon the face that would claim their life. She painted the tears going up and down her face as she thought about all the tears she cried over her death and last but definitely not least, she added the cryptic smile panted across her lips and cheeks.

No more tears will be cried tonight. At least not by her. After her entire make over she didn’t even recognize the person who was staring back at her. And that exactly what she wanted.

She smashed her fist into the mirror cracking it into smaller fragments. Tonight she was going to finish what they started a year ago. Tonight, she was going to be the avenging angel, the grim reaper.

    Tonight Dana Fairbanks was death.
