“bllaaugh” vomiting into the gutter

Audrey hands her a Kleenex “we’re almost to my place where you can clean up” grinning, shaking her head

Blowing her nose “god I can’t believe that happened, fuck you’d think I wasss a stupid kid” leaning back into the seat

After pulling into the garage Audrey helps Bette into the bathroom where she  vomits again. Shutting the lid on the toilet and sitting down wiping her mouth, this can’t go on all night, it was only 4 martini’s, christ where has my tolerance gone.

“here’s a wet wash cloth, did you get any on your clothes” Audrey asks

wiping her face “My clothes, who cares I hope I didn’t soil your beautiful car”

“How about I make you some toast to absorb the alcohol and you sleep here tonight” Audrey suggests

looking up at Audrey “thanks and I’m sorry this happened, you are a good friend” rolling her eyes in disbelief.

“Good morning” Audrey gently tries to wake Bette, shaking her shoulder.

Bette squints her eyes open “I don’t know how good, but morning to you” looking at Audrey completely dressed ready for work, quickly looking for the clock “WHAT time is it?”

“Relax it’s only 6:30 but I have a staff meeting at 7, so my question to you is would you rather drive the Jag or the Cadillac?” smiling at Bette

running her fingers through her messy curls “No I can get up and you can drop me at my house” sitting up

“No, Bette you can sleep an hour or longer, now which do you want to drive, I need to leave” pressing Bette for an answer

“OK I’ll take the Jag” with a big grin

“the keys are in it and just close the door with the opener in the console” As Audrey is leaving the bedroom “Bette, I set the alarm for 7:30 and I made coffee, you just have to turn it on, also if you want a bagel look in the bread box. Hope you feel better see you tonight.”

“Thanks for everything Audrey” rolling over hugging the pillow she drifts off to sleep
