Brief Encounter Chapter 33
Bette: Rachel, can you please tell them it’s fine? And I think that 5 on that wall is perfect. Oh and can you please hold all my calls? I need an hour alone in my office. Thanks.
Rachel: Ok.
I walked into my office and closed the door behind me. I leaned on the door and sighed. One more day. One more day before the show opens. If I was honest with myself I didn’t think I could get all this down. But walking around in the gallery today, I see another accomplishment that will definitely go down well in my books. I couldn’t believe everything’s ready. In less than two weeks I’ve managed to get all this down. I sat behind my desk and just stayed like that for a good five minutes; thinking of nothing but the accomplishment.
I looked at the frame on my desk. There sat a photo of us all at The Planet; all smiling. I can’t wait for them to get here. They’ve always been there for me, never missed a show. They’ll be here tonight, all of them except Dana who’s still on tour. And maybe Tina? I don’t know. How we left it the other day was just horrible. We were doing so good and that kiss? It shouldn’t have happened. I hope she’ll come. I hope she still will.
It’s been a week since I left LA. I should be thinking about what happened then and nothing else. That’s what usually happens when I am troubled especially matters that touch the core. It would be all that I could think of. It will consume not just my time but it’ll consume me, my energy, everything. Thank god for this gallery. The preparations and everything have kept me busy and they have allowed me to push those thoughts to the back of my head… for now. But now that everything is in place and in order with the show, the thought slowly and steadily comes back to light.
Looking back to that night, I still couldn’t believe that it happened. I could be out of line to say this but I’m glad I kissed her. I’ve missed kissing those lips. But what I’m not happy about is the fact that she left. I can understand her being hurt from before but I could’ve sworn she felt the same way. I wouldn’t have gone for that kiss if I wasn’t so sure.

YAY! Another chappy so soon. I love it. I am happy that Tina is on her way to see Bette. I hope that they can have a real honest discussion with one another. Put the walls down, let them speak from the heart. I hope Bette can find the forgiveness she seeks. I think that Tina is the type of woman to offer that, and help restore a healthy relationship between them. WOO HOO! Thanks Thumbs.
Thumbs this is good but these cliffhangers are killing me here.Bette needs to make this right and tell Tina about the situation with Mel.PPS.
They both needs to be locked in a room together and not let out until the solve their problem. Time out would be good for the Time out from the whole gang. thanks for posting
Well, thsnk god she is coming. It would be terrific if you could get these two together, privately without the gang, but at a restaurant where they would get a chance to talk. Boy, do they need to really do that!!! I’m off today, so your post was a very nice treat…thanks!!!
I so just caught up with your story. I am really liking it. I just B&T find the time to sit down and really talk to each other. Thanks PPS
yes, thank God Tina is coming to NY…can’t wait for their talk…will they even mention Mel to make all things clear? i hope we won’t get too much drama
Yayyy Tina is coming and can’t wait to see they talk and work thing out. Please post more, thanks!
I think I will die if they have one more misconception about Mel! How can Bette be so clueless! PPS
Oh thank you so much for posting. It’s a lovely chapter, if only too short. Yup, way too short… but I’ll take whatever comes my way. Can’t wait for the next one. No pressure… (I’m kidding, post soon ok!)
