    In WeHo Once Again

    I stepped out of the plane wondering what it would be like to see her again.  I walked towards the conveyer belt waiting for my bag to come through.  So I will be seeing her after all this time.  What am I going to say to her?  Hello Bette it’s been a long time?  ***** I cant say that?    We were never friends.  We were lovers straight from the beginning.  So a hug?  A kiss on each cheek?  What?  What am I going to do when I see her?  Shake her hand?  Gosh I miss looking into her eyes, being lost in it.  I miss it.  I miss it all. 

     

    I saw my bag on the belt and pulled the strap as it dropped on the floor.  I hung the bag on my shoulder and started towards the exit.  Even from afar I could see people waving from outside and hugging their loved ones with relief on their faces.  I wish I was coming home to someone who would hold me like that.  I gulped and walked toward the exit.  Gosh whatever it is behind those sliding doors, I hope it’s good. 

     

    At first I thought I was going to have to get a taxi but I saw Alice waving frantically at me looking really excited.  I was excited too and waved back.  I pulled on my bag, it really is slowing me down!  I was really excited to see Alice is she alone?  I slowed my pace.  I squinted.  I see Shane and who is that?  What?  Is that who I think it is?    I focused on the image.  She has dark curls.  It can’t be can it?  I walked closer.  It is her.  She looks beautiful as ever.  I walked faster but stopped when I saw someone reaching out for her and giving her a kiss. 

     

    What?  Who?  She pulled back and I now could clearly see who it was.  Melanie  Bette is with Melanie… With Melanie?!?!  What?  It can’t be can it?  I didn’t see her with anyone during her opening a few weeks ago!  This must be wrong or is it?  I walked slowly behind Shane

     

    Alice:  We’re picking up Tina.  Speak of the devil well here she is!
