Bike Ride, Life Ride – Chapter 5

“Can I see her?” Jodie said.

Dr. Miller looked at Tina and said “Ms. Kennard, you control all her visitors, I am afraid this is up to you. I am not really getting what is going on here, but Bette is my patient and her health comes first right now. It takes a backseat to anything personal. She cannot be woke up or upset at the moment.  That being said, if you want to peek in on her and Tina thinks that is ok, I am good with that”.

Again, three sets of eyes were on Tina. Again Tina felt bullied, but thought to herself, that if she were in Jodie’s place, she would need to see Bette physically and know that she was ok, so she said “Yeah, that is ok”.

Tina looked at Jodie, maybe expecting a thank you or some sort of encouraging word that Tina had acted with sincerity and kindness, but Jodie just stared back with a look of vengeance in her eyes.

Tina sighed and said “Lead the way, Dr. Miller”.

Jodie had Tom say to Tina “You are going to come too? I wanted to have some time alone with my girlfriend”.

Tina winced. “Jodie. Please. I am going with you, but I promise that I will wait in the hall outside the room while you briefly visit with Bette”.

Tina felt like crying. She was at a loss for words and just didn’t know what to do.  She followed Jodie, who was in close stride with Dr. Miller.  They went through doorways, up an elevator and around corners finally arriving at what must be Bette’s room.

“This is it” Dr. Miller said. “There are a few things that I want to explain to you Tina, about the equipment in the room before I leave to go write some notes on her chart. Can you step in and I will show you?”

In a barely audible whisper Tina said “Of course”.  She looked over at Jodie who had a very indignant look about her.

They all four stepped into Bette’s room and looked at the figure lying peacefully in the bed. Bette was asleep or knocked out, but placed strategically in the bed. She was covered in blankets and a nurse was taking off one round of blankets and putting another set on to Bette. They were heated blankets that had just come out of the blanket oven.

    1. Oh dear, Bette’s pretending to sleep to avoid Jodi… ouch! Well, she can’t use that excuse for too long, because sooner or later, banged up and post-surgery or not, she’s going to have to face the music. Tina too, even though she’s got a million and one other things on besides being there for Bette. 10 days-2 weeks in a cast for Bette? I don’t think she has that much patience… and I hope Tina doesn’t feel like the accident was her fault… it wasn’t. I also hope everything goes okay with Angie/Kit and the rest of their lives they left behind in LA. Thanks for the post!

    2. Way to go Bette…LMAO! Ok, I think it wasn’t supposed to be funny but I had to laugh anyway, couldn’t help it.Jodi’s next visit should be interesting…By the frequency in posting I guess the next chapter will be online when I get up so I’ll spare you and won’t beg to post soon.See you tomorrow ;)

    3. Ubtil Bette tells Jodie to back off and to stay away, she will stick around just to get on Tina nerves. Got to remember that Tina can just take so much. The Alpha Tina will appear. Woo beyond to Jodie when that happens thanks

    4. Hopefully Bette will tell the doctor herself that she does not want Jodi there anymore. Will Bette tell Tina what Jodi said and does Tina need to know? Jodi needs to go away permanently and Bette needs to tell her that they have no future together and to get lost. Please don’t let Tina start to blame herself for the accident and we know she will. It was no one’s fault. Crap happens. IT WAS AN ACCIDENT. Hopefully once Tina gets some rest she will be back at 100% herself and able to stand up to Jodi and Tom. I love alpha Tina, when she gets her back up and she has a powerful right hook when needed. Thanks for posting so often. Love the story. PPS

    5. Ok, Jodie is officially getting on my nerves. But, Bette can’t use the excuse of sleeping to avoid Jodie. I think Tina’s patience is wearing thin. Bette needs to confront Jodie and tell her the truth so it won’t interfere with her recovery.

    6. your killing me im lol so much!! “”I was pretending to sleep” great bette!!! i think tina needs to take care of bette bathroom and all that and help her walk again, tina is cute and shes so in love with bette i can see tina helping her bette fall on tina and…ammmm lol

    7. yoiur doing a good job… jodie will get her self n trouble… the hospital will not let her pull any shit with them… they don’t care that she is deaf… she still has to follow the rules and if bette doesn’t want jodie there.. well tina needs to tell her… bette can’t get her blood pressure up, so jodie take a hike… loved how bette pretended to be asleep… keep it up… good job…PPS

    8. oh clever very clever pretending to be asleep to avoid Jodi.i agree with trecelovinit Jodi is really getting on my nerves as well why can’t she just leave Bette and Tina alone.ahhhhh if i was Tina i would have never have let her see Bette.i love this story PPVS thanks
