Tina inhaled to steady herself and said “I heard Bette leaving this morning and I went to talk to her. She had already started to leave, so I yelled for her. I guess it distracted her, so she turned around and didn’t see the car coming around the corner. The car hit her head on”.
“So you did cause this? This immediately and this all of this really” Jodie said.
Tina narrowed her eyes, huffed and said “Bette has some broken bones and stitches. She may have internal bleeding. She needs her leg re-set and could have a fracture in her hip. She needed surgery right away. I was able to speak to her briefly. She knows that you are here and knows that you want her to get better. I spoke to her very frankly about the paperwork to make sure it was not an old copy of medical directives. Jodie, I am as surprised as you are to find that the paperwork is not old and that she intentionally brought it with her. I clearly asked Bette if she would like Kit to take over with decision making and she was very clear in her wishes. I don’t want to upset you anymore then you are already upset Jodie. I am so sorry that you are hurting right now and that I am the cause of some of that pain. I don’t want to get in the middle of your private dealings with Bette. I don’t know what to do. I am feeling really lost right now myself and unsure and yet I have to respect her request to be responsible for her medically. I hope you understand”. Tina looked at Jodie compassionately and waited for a reply.
Jodie said “Tina, how can you say you don’t want to be in the middle of my private dealings with Bette? When you started fucking her, don’t you think that got you in the middle of something awfully private?”
Shane interjected “Hey. Jodie. Not now. This is not the time or place for this. Tina cannot be held responsible for your relationship with Bette at this juncture”.
Jodie said “Is Bette going to be ok?”
“Yes, I think so. The doctor thought so”, Tina said.
“Did you arrange to be her power of attorney with the hospital staff?”, Jodie asked.
“Yes, I did.”, said Tina.
“Did you do it because of Angie?” Jodie asked.
“Jodie, I don’t want to hurt you. I never wanted to hurt you. I am so exhausted and confused that I have not processed through my feelings yet. Nothing is flushed out for me right now inside my own head. No matter what happens in the future, Bette will always be my co-parent with Angelica and I would always help her for that reason. But, Jodie that is not the only reason that I agreed to Bette’s wishes. I would prefer to leave it at that right now. I don’t really want to answer any further, but I want to give you what I can to help you through your process”, Tina said.
“Did you know about the paperwork before the bike ride Tina?” asked Jodie
“No, I did not”, said Tina
“But you knew Bette was going to break up with me?” Jodie asked point blank.
“Jodie, I don’t feel like I should talk about what Bette’s intentions. I don’t have clear answers to things myself. There was no master plan”. Tina said. “Can we just keep this about Bette right now? When she comes out of surgery, I do want you to see her Jodie. I want you to talk to her, but I don’t want her to get upset”.
“Fine. I will wait here. I would like to see her”, Jodie said. “I am going back to the waiting area”. With that, she loudly pushed her chair out and sauntered out of the room with Tom tagging closely behind.
Tina put her hands to hear head and sobbed. She said to herself “This is so fucked up”.
“Yes it is”, Shane said.
Tina looked up, surprised that she answered her.
“How fucked up is it Tina?”, Shane asked
“Very. Pretty much”, Tina answered.
Silence ensued for the better part of two or three minutes and then Tina quietly said “Shane?”
“Yeah”, Shane said.
“Thank you”, Tina said.
“You bet”, Shane said.

God, Jodi is so self-centered. She should have left, but I guess you’re keeping her there for some more drama in the next chapters…but that’s ok…we love drama. Bring it on! I missed out commenting on the last chapter, you’re too fast for me ;)
Our superhero at Tina side.If Shane hadn’t been there things with jodie would have been rough. With Jodieit was always Me Me Me, not we or us. Glad Bette will make it. I would not Jodie be with Bette by herself. might cause Bette to get in serious trouble health wise. thanks

Good move. I never like Jodi and now I really don’t. As always it was about her, and what she felt she deserved. That’s why it never worked . Bette was trying to change, to not make every thing about her, and instead she got involved with someone who acted the same way. Thank God for Tina.

yeah fucked up for Jodi but she will survive. I am glad that Shane attempted to keep it about Bettes current situation. I don’t know if its a good idea to have Jodie see Bette, got a feelings she may upset her. PPS
Great job with this! Jodie needs to be reigned in a little. Shane is right, this isn’t about the affair right now. It’s about Bette’s well being. I hope Jodie gets her emotions under control. That’s why things didn’t work out between her and Bette. She’s self-centered and Bette was trying to change that about herself before she met Jodie. Can’t wait to see how Bette comes out with the surgery and who she asks for when she wakes up! PPS
Good on Shane for being there for Tina… she was voice of reason and a good buffer. Things might go in a decidedly different manner for Jodi after Bette comes out of surgery, though. Thanks for posting, more when you can. Cheers

So happy that Shane was with Tina, I knew Jodi would not be fair with Tina. Jodi is a bully and would try to get her way any way she could. It would have been two against Tina if not for Shane. Shane is the only one of the friends and family that could control Jodi and Tom other than Kit and Kit would have lost her cool and made miincemeat out of Jodi and that would not have helped anything. Now it will be up to the doctor’s to get Jodi out of the hospital because shse will nt be nice no matter what. Since Dr. Miller heard Bette say that she wanted Tina to stay with her and help her and he also say the paperwork, now when Jodi shows her little tail, and she will, he can ban her from the hospital, which is in everyone’s best interest especially Bette and that is what will be uppermost in the doctor’s mind, the health, safety and welfare of his patient. And the nursing staff already loves Tina and they will protect her at all costs. Jodi can now go straight to HELL, or to jail, for disturbing the peace and jeaopardizing the welfare of the patient. YEA!!!!!. Jodi should not be allowed to see Bette and Bette does not want to see her and shouldn’t until she is well and able to cope with the idiot. when they get home Tina should move in with Bette to help Kit take care of her. Seeing Tina and Angie on a daily basis while recuperating will be the best medicine for Bette. Jodi is toast. Great chapter. PPS
aww shane to the rescue…thats what i like to see. i hope you post soon. also i know Jodi is hurting but for fucks sake she needs to concentrate on Bette and her health not her affair with Tina.
