    The “talk” with Jodie.

    As they made the track down the hallway to the hospital lounge Tina toggled between the feeling of completely floating and a drop dead weight anchor.  It was awkwardly silent as they neared the end of the hallway and began to turn a corner that showed an entrance to the lounge area. 

     

    “Tina! Wait up”, Shane echoed down the hallway. Both Tom and Tina turned around. Jodie looked at Tom and when she saw he was looking back, she too looked back. Tina stopped walking and Shane caught up to her. Tina turned around and faced Shane and once their eyes locked Tina’s lip started to quiver and tears were forming in her eyes. “I know” Shane said and gave Tina a great big hug.  Jodie signed to Tom to ask him what was going on and he said he didn’t know.  Shane peeked around Tina in the direction of Jodie and held up her one finger to gesture she would be a just a minute.  Jodie exhaled loudly and rolled her eyes. Shane said “Tina, I don’t want you to do this alone”.  Tina said “Shane that is so sweet, but I need to do this. I will be ok”.  Shane was about to argue when Jodie signed to Tom and he interpreted to Shane “This is not about you Shane and if you don’t mind, I would like to talk to Tina alone.” Shane said “Jodie, listen, we are friends, we are all friends, but this is a very difficult time and I don’t think Tina should be without support. I know that you are upset and you have every right to be, but I don’t want to see Tina caught in the middle of this”.

     

    Jodie looked furious “Caught in the middle? Are you fucking kidding me? She is in the middle of this. She is the cause of this.” Shane said “Woah, Jodie, wait a minute. This…this right here, right now is not about Bette and Tina together. It isn’t about Bette having an affair. Right here, right now, this is about Bette’s health and everything else is secondary”.  Shane protectively put her arm around Tina and gestured for them to turn the corner and enter a square table in the lounge. Since it was very early in the morning, there was no activity in the lounge; they had the place to themselves, so privacy was not an issue.  Tom and Jodie walked around to the far end of the table and sat down next to each other and Shane pulled out a chair for Tina and gently pushed her to be seated and then sat down next to her. Shane said “What is the easiest way to get this started, but keep in on topic? And by on topic, I mean, keep this about Bette, what is happening, what happens next, etc.”.  Jodie said “Let’s start there. Tina, what is going on with Bette? What is this paperwork crap? Does she know that I am here? And when can I see her?”

    1. God, Jodi is so self-centered. She should have left, but I guess you’re keeping her there for some more drama in the next chapters…but that’s ok…we love drama. Bring it on! I missed out commenting on the last chapter, you’re too fast for me ;)

    2. Our superhero at Tina side.If Shane hadn’t been there things with jodie would have been rough. With Jodieit was always Me Me Me, not we or us. Glad Bette will make it. I would not Jodie be with Bette by herself. might cause Bette to get in serious trouble health wise. thanks

    4. Good move. I never like Jodi and now I really don’t. As always it was about her, and what she felt she deserved. That’s why it never worked . Bette was trying to change, to not make every thing about her, and instead she got involved with someone who acted the same way. Thank God for Tina.

    7. yeah fucked up for Jodi but she will survive. I am glad that Shane attempted to keep it about Bettes current situation. I don’t know if its a good idea to have Jodie see Bette, got a feelings she may upset her. PPS

    8. Great job with this! Jodie needs to be reigned in a little. Shane is right, this isn’t about the affair right now. It’s about Bette’s well being. I hope Jodie gets her emotions under control. That’s why things didn’t work out between her and Bette. She’s self-centered and Bette was trying to change that about herself before she met Jodie. Can’t wait to see how Bette comes out with the surgery and who she asks for when she wakes up! PPS

    9. Good on Shane for being there for Tina… she was voice of reason and a good buffer. Things might go in a decidedly different manner for Jodi after Bette comes out of surgery, though. Thanks for posting, more when you can. Cheers

    11. So happy that Shane was with Tina, I knew Jodi would not be fair with Tina. Jodi is a bully and would try to get her way any way she could. It would have been two against Tina if not for Shane. Shane is the only one of the friends and family that could control Jodi and Tom other than Kit and Kit would have lost her cool and made miincemeat out of Jodi and that would not have helped anything. Now it will be up to the doctor’s to get Jodi out of the hospital because shse will nt be nice no matter what. Since Dr. Miller heard Bette say that she wanted Tina to stay with her and help her and he also say the paperwork, now when Jodi shows her little tail, and she will, he can ban her from the hospital, which is in everyone’s best interest especially Bette and that is what will be uppermost in the doctor’s mind, the health, safety and welfare of his patient. And the nursing staff already loves Tina and they will protect her at all costs. Jodi can now go straight to HELL, or to jail, for disturbing the peace and jeaopardizing the welfare of the patient. YEA!!!!!. Jodi should not be allowed to see Bette and Bette does not want to see her and shouldn’t until she is well and able to cope with the idiot. when they get home Tina should move in with Bette to help Kit take care of her. Seeing Tina and Angie on a daily basis while recuperating will be the best medicine for Bette. Jodi is toast. Great chapter. PPS

    12. aww shane to the rescue…thats what i like to see. i hope you post soon. also i know Jodi is hurting but for fucks sake she needs to concentrate on Bette and her health not her affair with Tina.
