Tina said “You are not going to be alone in a room with her, ever again Bette”.
Bette said “Tina, I am not afraid of her. I was vulnerable and she took advantage of me. In some strange way I guess she thought it would make me remember what we once had together and it would make we want to come back.”
Tina said “Did you have something special with her Bette?”
Bette said “When I think back now, it really feels like a blur. At the time I don’t think I knew it but I was still in love with you and the only person I wanted to be with was you. Jodie flirted with me and I guess that stroked my ego – you rejected me and she wanted me and that felt good. We never had a real connection. In retrospect it was a classic rebound for me. And I am a control freak, I wanted it to work. I wanted to mold whatever I had with Jodie into what I was missing when you went away. I was definitely distracted by her and I definitely cared about her, but it was not love. Not the way I had known love before.”
Tina said “Bette I knew that I wanted you back as soon as I stepped out of the angry haze I was in. Do you remember that I had a dinner party and you and the girls came? When you walked in the room every one of Henry’s friends asked who that gorgeous woman was. I was so mad at myself, because that gorgeous woman was you and you were once mine. You were turning the head of everyone in the room! I knew at that moment that I was not over you Bette Porter.”
Bette said “Tina, you exaggerate. No one at that party wanted anything to do with me. And I was so upset to see you there with Henry that I just wanted to get the hell out of there.”
Tina said “Bette. Please. You turn heads no matter where you are. You don’t know how beautiful you are!”
Bette said “Tina? Can I ask you a question?”
Tina said “Yes babe you can ask me anything.”

I’m happy that Bette didn’t let the Jodi thing distract her from her wanting to be close to Tina. And it was thoughtful of Tina, giving Bette space. Continue with the story, I love it.
