Bike Ride, Life Ride – Chapter 22

Tina said “Bette, I am frustrated with the situation, but I am not mad at you. I am glad that you are going to talk to a social worker tomorrow. That makes me feel better.”

Bette said “Can you just come into bed and snuggle up to me and hold me and forget about this for the night?”

Tina said “I can forget about it for the night, but I can’t let it go Bette”.

Tina joined Bette in bed and the two snuggled up for the night. Tina’s mind was racing and she was trying to do what she promised Bette she would do: Drop it for the night. She just didn’t know how she was going to get past this. The tension was still there between the couple, but not as bad as it was before they talked. Tina was able to drift into a slumber by convincing herself that at least Bette was going to talk to someone about the incident tomorrow.

Morning brought fresh sunlight pouring through the main window to Bette’s hospital room. Tina awoke first to the sight of her beautiful girlfriend asleep and draped partially over her and the morning rays of sun bouncing off her face and skin. Tina thought to herself, she is so beautiful, she looks like an angel. Sleep is so innocent. Tina could not resist, so she reached out and touched Bette’s face that was glowing with warmth from the sunlight. She lightly brushed rogue strands of Bette’s hair from her face and tucked them behind her ear. She slightly caressed her face and lightly brushed her forehead with a kiss. With the gentle motions Bette started to stir out of sleep. She fluttered her eyes open and glanced up at Tina and smiled. Tina smiled back at her.

Bette squinted her eyes and said “Good Morning…it’s sunny out”.

Tina said “Hey you…good morning…very sunny out, a good day for a walk, don’t you think?”

Bette said “Yeah, I think so”.

While the girls were talking, a morning nurse came in and greeted them with a cheery good morning and after checking on Bette let them know that a social worker would be there in thirty minutes to speak to Bette.

    1. I guess pay back is no Bette thing, but if some one had did that to Tina,Bette would be in jail for murder, In my mind eyes Tina will get Jodie, and it want be a nice way. Then when Kit learns about it it will be worse. Anyway you look at it Jodie will get her just dues, Tina,Kit orthe gang. Love that Bette did take the first step tho.

    2. Poor Bette she is so fragile. It’s good that Tina got a chance to talk to the social worker now she knows that it’s not that Bette doesn’t want to talk about it she just needs to get over it in her own time. Tina also needs to show Bette as much love and affection as she can so she knows that Tina is not turned off by what happened to her. PPS

    3. Glad that Bette decided to talk to a professional. Tina is trying hard but maybe a little too hard with the jodi thing, but I can also understand Tina wanting to protect Bette.

    4. Geez that was heavy. Did Bette give the social worker permission to disclose all of that stuff to Tina? In what chapter did u disclose about this sexual assault? I seem to have missed something. Thx, a heavy subject to write about.

    5. Good that Bette talked about it to someone. Also I understand why she wanted it to be just between her and the social worker. Sometimes it’s easier to confide into a stranger than into our beloved ones but in the right time she’ll open up to Tina too. Thanks for posting!
