    Bette Forgets 60

    >60<

    Shane

After receiving a teary phone call from Bette and not being able to understand half of it I was able to get her calmed down enough for her to tell me that she was at the hospital with Tina and both of them getting checked out.  Bette kept telling me that she was sorry but wasn’t saying what she was sorry for.  I couldn’t help the feeling of dread that welled up in my chest.

Getting in my truck I made my way to the hospital and asked for the location of my friend’s.  After being directed to one of the smaller rooms in the ER I found Tina lying on a bed and Bette was sitting near the wall.  One thing I noticed about Bette was that she was pale, bleeding, crying and handcuffed to a chair.  Ben was standing next to Bette.

“Why is Bette handcuffed to a chair,” I ask seeing as how it’s the first question that popped into my brain

Bette looks up at me and I receive such a look of sorrow from her that it breaks my heart.  I turn to Tina to see her watching Bette with a look of sympathy.  Tina.  How in the world did Bette manage to find Tina?

“Will someone tell me what’s going on,” I ask no one in particular

Bette says something so softly that I didn’t hear what it was.  I drop down in front of her.

“What did you say Bette,” I ask gently

She looks up at me and clears her throat, “I’m sorry.”

“What do you have to be sorry for?”

She swallows hard, “It was Carmen.”

    “What was Carmen?”

Bette looks from me to Tina and back to me, “It was Carmen,” she repeats

With a dawning clarity I understand what Bette was attempting to tell me.  It was Carmen.  Carmen was the stalker; she was the one that kidnapped Tina.  It was Carmen.  I also understood now why Bette was handcuffed to a chair.

    “You fought,” I asked Bette

She nods her head, which is bowed down.  She is staring down at her lap.

    1. That was sad and ver awesome, amazing. So glad that Betteand Tine are Okay. sad about Carmen. Shane will always have a rough time but with her friends sshe will always come out on top.

    2. Find no B&S lovin from you I can deal with that. Just as long as you promise to never end this story. LOL well shane rocks and I love B&S as that super hero team you have them as.

    3. Great chapter, but I really feel sorry for Shane. She really deserves love, maybe you can pair her with Tatyana. It would be very interesting since she is not a member of the group of friends and therefore there will be room for discovery.
Bette and Tina will only grow stronger from this.

    4. Totally and completely AWESOME!!!! OMG I am serious. You know I love drama and that was excellent the way you had Shane’s POV. Wow I have so missed reading this. Thanks for the Post.

    5. Totally AMAZING!! Seriously, sharing Shane’s feelings through her POV was very powerful. How Shane sees Bette & Tina, and how she sees herself entwined in their lives was awesome. This was really a sad, happy, and loving chapter. Thanks for the excellent post…please continue. Let’s hope self forgiveness doesn’t come at too high a price.
