    The Board of Directors Meeting

     

    Bette:  If I am allowed to continue…

     

    Franklyn:  Yes please Bette get on with it…

     

    Bette:  We arrived at his studio… it was a “Busy” little studio… but what a selection of sculptures… magnificent, brilliant work… we were just browsing when his secretary came forward… I introduced my self… well to make a long story short… Toni O’Brian doesn’t make appointments on the weekends…

     

    Helena:  What are you saying… she told me the opposite…

     

    Bette:  Well she told me she told the rep from the CAC… a woman with an English accent… the only appointments are on the weekdays… he spends the weekends with the Family…

     

    Helena:  And you let her get away with that excuse… what happened to the charm Bette…

     

    Peggy:  Helena what are you saying…

     

    The whole room turned at Peggy’s voice…

     

    Helena:  Oh Mother… I didn’t hear you come in…

     

    Peggy:  I wanted it that way… so Helena… you sent Bette away… for what purpose…

     

    Helena:  I didn’t send her away…

     

    Peggy:  No you just planted the seed… (Looking at Franklyn)…

     

    Bette:  Peggy if you would take a seat… I’m sure you will find this very interesting…

     

    Peggy sits by Bette…

     

    Bette:  Well like I said… what could I do… I wasn’t going to beg for an appointment… so I apologized and was about to leave… she saw me looking around and I said I was looking for my wife… that’s when we discovered that Tina was with her wife having tea…

     

    Helena:  How convenient…

     

    Bette: Yes it was… you see her wife is also pregnant and they also have a son… who by the way fell in love with Tina… anyway…

     

    Franklyn:  Bette please get to the point…

     

    Bette:  The point Franklyn is… that Tony doesn’t have a secretary… you see the secretary was Toni… it’s her way of weeding out the undesirables… and believe me before I even set one foot in her studio there was no way in hell she was even going to show her work here at the CAC…

     

    Peggy:  So I assume she changed her mind…

     

    Bette:  Yes she did… we all had a wonderful afternoon… and she is ready to sign the contracts as soon as I get them back to her… we made a few changes… as to accommodations when they come here for the opening… they will have 2 children with them… nothing to worry about… it’s a done deal…

Hi Mary, I love the relationships in this story (Bette and Tina, Bette and James, James and Lisa, Tina and Jill,etc. I know that Helena is pissed, but it could have been worse, that what happens when you get caught with you hand in the cookie jar (hee hee). I hope that Franklyn realize that Peggy was also putting him on notice and he doesn’t have “blood” for protection. GREAT update girl :o).

    5. Will Helena ever learn? Because she didn’t get what she wanted from B&T she tried to make Bette look incompetent but only succeeded in doing it to her self. Hope she has had enough, but probably not. PPS

    7. Glad that you put Helena in her place. Maybe now Peggy will remove that bossy daughter of hers or keep a very tight rein on her. Always love the adult alone time.

    10. No wonder Helena’s jealous. Not only did Peggy side against her in public, but she sat next to Bette. Not that Helena didn’t deserve it. But I think that’s only going to inspire more bad behavior from Helena.
