    Because of Angelica..chpt.4

    “sure, no problem”, Shane replied.

    The next morning

(Bette’s in the kitchen reading the newspaper. Angelica walked into the kitchen, and sat down in the chair next to her. She looked upset.)

    “what’s wrong sweetie?”, Bette asked.

    “you lied”, Angelica replied.

“about what?”, Bette asked. She put the newspaper down and tended to her daughter.

“about being back with mommy. You lied to me”, Angelica began to cry. She covered her face with her hands. Her little nose turned red.

“I didn’t lie to you Angie. I never promised you, that Tina and I, would be back together”, Bette replied.

“but, I thought you wanted to be with mommy. I thought that’s why you decided to go on the date with her, but then you canceled. Why?”, Angelica asked.

“because, I have a life to live Angie. I’ve been waiting for Tina for four years sweetie. She hasn’t come around then, so what makes you think she’s coming around now?”, Bette asked..

“because, that’s all you talked about was mommy. You never talked about anybody else, and now your moving away. I thought you loved me?”, Angelica asked.

“I do love you Angie, and just because I’m going away doesn’t mean I love you any less. Mommy’s just going away to better herself, and no matter where I go, or what I do, I’ll always have time for you. I’ll leave you with my number, and my instant messager email address. We’ll talk every night before you go to bed. I promise”, Bette replied. She wiped her daughter’s face, and kissed her delicate cheeks. She could tell that her leaving was eating her daughter up inside.

“so, when are you leaving?”, Angelica asked as she gazed up into her mother’s eyes. Tears dropped from her small brown orbs.

“I’m leaving next month. The day of Tina’s birthday”, Bette said. Angelica shook her head back and forth in disbelief. She hopped down out the chair. “please baby, don’t make this harder than it has to be”, Bette pleaded with her daughter.

“you don’t love me. I’m not your friend anymore, and I don’t wanna be your daughter anymore”, Angelica stormed out of the kitchen. Bette followed her.

“Angie…Angie…Angie…STOP NOW!”, Bette raised her voice. Angelica stopped in her tracks. She turned around. The young girl couldn’t stop the over flow of tears that welded in her eyes. “I’m so sorry Angie. I wish that there was something I could do, but I’ve been waiting for this for a long time, and now god had blessed me with this chance to take it”, Bette adds.
