    Moving on.

    She had gone to the hospital every day, even after Tina had been discharged and was safe within the walls of her own home. She wouldn’t go in all the time, mostly when Shane was asleep; but she’d check with the on-call doctor every night. This last time the nurse informed her that Shane had checked herself out of the hospital that morning, and that she seemed fine.

    She drove up to the house that Shane had been renting, and walked the stairs to the porch. Darkness was all she saw—and emptiness. She called Alice and asked if she had been to see her that morning, but Alice, who had now changed the title of her story from “The Homeless of Hollywood Boulevard” to “Sisters; a Bizarre Twist of Circumstance,” hadn’t heard from her since the day before, when she stopped by the hospital to bring her pizza.

    “Did you ask her anything that might have offended her,” Bette asked. “No, I didn’t get to her side of the story yet,” Alice responded. “She’s still figuring it all out.”

    “Yeah, well—she’s not the only one.”

    Tina was busy making an omelet when Bette walked into her apartment. “What are you doing out of bed?” Tina rolled her eyes and looking over, said, “They didn’t tell me to stay in bed, Bette, they told me to continue with my normal routine.”

    Bette smiled as she dropped her bag on the table and kissed the back of her head. “An omelet? Is it part of your normal routine, to make an omelet at,” she looked at her watch, “Nine o’clock at night?”

    “Actually, for me it is, yeah,” Tina laughed. “So, how is she today? Did you tell her that I’m thinking about her?” Bette sighed and rolled her hands into two tight fists as she stretched. “She—wasn’t there. According to the nurse, she checked herself out this morning.”

    “Oh,” Tina said, thinking, “Well, did you stop by the house?”

    Bette nodded and picking up the envelope from the table, continued, “I did, because I knew you’d ask, and she wasn’t there either.”

    Tina turned and leaned against the stove. “She shouldn’t be out and about yet, maybe Alice knows…”

    1. Glad to see this one back.Hopefully Shane shows up so the girls can become closer.I also hope Tina moves in with Bette so they can move past the illness and build a life together.

    4. Shane will show up when she is ready. Hope that Tina does move in with Bette,good old Melvin will try to play hell with Bette and Tina Lets see how strong Bettes love for Tina is, will she stand up to him. thanks

    5. Hhmmph…Bette is being just a tad ungrateful to Shane considering Shane may have just saved Tina’s life. I know Bette’s got some issues going on in her head about the sister thing and Melvin coming, but she needs to recognize the sacrifice Shane made for both of them. Tina should definitely move in with Bette. Can’t wait for your next post Girl!

    7. I wonder where Shane is? So Bette’s father is going to make his presence known to Tina and the others. I can’t wait to read about the dinner party.

    11. Wrong answer Bette Tina wants Shane to be a part of thier lives. Melvin coming is just going to make things worse he won’t want to have anything to do with Shane or Tina, especially after he finds out they all know the secreat now.

    12. Hope Tina makes the decision to move in with Bette, they need each other now. Melvin will be his usual “ass” self and not accept either of the girls or the circumstance. PPS
