    Chapter 8

    CHAPTER 8
    They exited the dining lounge into what Bette felt like blinding light. It was in fact a dimly lit bar.
    Dominique, the Maitre D’ welcomed them out as was tradition in "Dans le Noir!". He produced a book containing pictures of the food they had just eaten and Bette realised how wrong she had been about all her assumptions about their food during the meal.
    The starter had actually been a Lobster And Leek Terrine with Caviar. The main course also transpired to have been a far cry from the usual boring Sunday dinner’s offering of roast beef. In fact, they were astounded to find out that the main dish had been an altogether rather exotic Marjoram and Thyme marinated Zebra fillet with Kangaroo Escalope with anchovy and lemon butter.  Bette congratulated herself  inwardly for having correctly recognised at least one food item of the menu. 
    During their post dinner interaction, Bette was careful to describe the pictures in front of them. How the fair had been beautifully presented and how brightly coloured the food looked against the white background of the oversized plates. 
    Tina listened intently to all her words. She definitely had the most amazing sounding voice, evenly pitched and soft. Each words were carefully selected to convey the right idea. She oozed a sense of sophistication and her intellect made this woman very desirable. Tina scolded herself for letting such thoughts into her head, but she could not help it. Bette had been on her mind ever since the night at the Planet.
    Once Dominique had left them, they opted to stay in the bar a little while longer and ordered after dinner coffees. Bette shared with her dinner companion how incredibly enlightening this experience had been. The total role reversal of being helped to eat inside by the blind, when many of us spend time helping the blind to eat outside. It was a complete transfer of trust, something Bette was usually reluctant to allow.
    When Tina enquired what the best part of the evening had been for Bette, the brunette’s mind shot back straight to the honey she had tasted off Tina’s fingers.
    "Spending the evening with you!" was the frank and quite truthful answer.

    4. Ok now, that’s mean!!! LOL… But I have to say… WOW! Yeah, the discovery of Bette’s face with her hands is such an intimate moment. No wonder Bette couldn’t help requesting… What? What did Bette request?… Although we all know the answer to that, please put it into words and give us that *biiiiip* (TBC in next chapter of “At first sight”…) Thanks! ;)

    5. Okay…it’s a good thing there’s a chapter every day…you’re getting good at the cliff hangers… :D when I get home from work tomorrow..the first thing I need to do is I need to know what happens next…

    6. Hmmmmmm, this was a cruelty leaving us in the expectation. — ” I Can kiss you ” – ” yes, yes, yes, yes, thousand times yes” – I love his story.

    14. Wow, it looks like Tina is once again bravely stepping into unknown territory and embracing her feelings towards Bette. Please don’t leave us hanging too long. I want to Tina fulfilling Bette’s quiet request :)
