Alice left the bathroom.

Alex was just finishing up her soup and catching up with her parents and Tina when a knock was on her door. Everyone turned around. Alex looked at the clock, it was 2 am. Who would be out here so late?

Honey, why you callin me, so late?

Alex: Come in.

The door swung open, to reveal Alice. As she saw the girl in the bed, she dropped her jacket and immediately started to cry. She dropped Carla’s hand. Shane and Carmen looked around.

Shane: Umm, I have to umm eat.

Carmen nodded, keeping her eyes on Alice.

Carmen: I’ll make you something.

Tina: I’m just getting out of here.

All three left Alex, Alice and Carla alone. Alex stared at Alice, then looked at Carla.

It’s kinda hard to talk right now.

Alice saw this and turned to Carla.

Alice: Umm, can you give us a second?

Carla nodded and kissed Alice, having no clue what’s going on. She left and the second that door closed, Alice ran over to Alex and pulled her up in her arms. Alice cried like a mad woman. So, Alex pulled away and whipped away the tears.

Alex: Honey why you cryin, is everything alright?

Alice: I’ve gotta whisper ‘cause I can’t be too loud. My girl’s in the next room, sometimes I wish she was you.

Alex: I guess we never really moved on!

Alice: Well you kinda left Alex, we had no way to…

Alex looked to her hands in her lap and sniffled while nodding and interrupted.

Alex: It’s really good to hear your voice, saying my name, it sounds so sweet commin from the lips of an angel, hearing those words, it makes me weak. And I, Never wanna say goodbye.

Alice ran her hand across Alex’s cheek.

Alice: Girl, you make it hard to be faithful, with the Lips of an Angel

Alex leaned in for a kiss, but Alice turned away and got off the bed.

Alex: It’s funny how you’re callin me, tonight.  I must have dreamt about you ever hour of sleep I got. It was so real, the feeling was palpable!

Alice: Yes, I dreamt of you too.

Alex: Does she know you’ve been with me, will it start a fight?

Alice: No, I don’t think she has a clue.

Alex sighed.

Alex: So, she’s the freak of the week?

Alice: What are you talking about?

Alex: Come on Alice, I saw you. You were with practically a new woman every night!

Alice: Carla and I have been together for a month now! Oh my god, that was YOU. When I was sitting in the planet. YOU were watching me. For how long?

Alex reached over, on her nightstand and pulled out the piece of cloth.

Alex: Long enough to know you wore my sweats everywhere.. and to find this.

She waved the cloth.

Alice: But why?

Alex: I still loved you, I still do.

Alice: I still love you too.

Alice walked up to her again and sat in a chair next to her bed.

Alex: Then come back to me.

Alice: It’s not that easy.

Alex: Why? Because of the family you want?

Alice: No, I really like Carla. YOU left, you just can’t expect me to get rid of all the things I’ve done while you were gone.

Alex: I left because you dumped me!

Alice: Exactly, I dumped YOU!

Alex: But you still love me.

Alice: Not enough to just break Carla’s heart.

Alex: Then, you wouldn’t care if I dated someone else?

Alice knew it would bug the hell out of her, but it’d be hypocritical if she said so.

Alice: You can date whoever you want.

Alice stood up, and turned her back to Alex as she shed a single tear.

Alice: I umm, I have to get back to Carla. I’m glad you’re back.

Alex had her arms crossed.

Alex: What ever. Go be with your fuck buddy.

That hurt! Alice started to really cry, and walked out. Alex watched her back the entire time, not knowing why she said that. She watched the love of her life walk away.
