Angelica & The Artist – Chapter 23
Back in Angie’s office……
Bette looked at Tina and with a puzzled look on her face asked “You know David MacKenzie? How?”
Knowing that Bette was trying to deflect the hot seat from herself, she curtly responded “We dated in high school. I’ve known him for years. Now don’t you dare try to change the subject…..….”
Tina was fuming at her wife. She stood, arms crossed across her chest glaring at Bette.
“How could you do that to Angie and not to mention…… to Lyndsay?”
“T, please just listen….”
Not backing down, Tina continued to voice her displeasure at her wife “Bette, I don’t know what you were thinking. Angie specifically told you that the painting was not to be displayed, but you went against her wishes and did it anyway.”
“Tina, it is an incredible piece of art.”
“That does not matter, it could have been painted by Picasso or Michelangelo for all I care, your daughter asked you not to meddle, but what do you do…..” Tina was extremely frustrated with her wife at this point. She ran her hand through her hair, then sighed.
“Even after all these years Bette, I still don’t understand you sometimes,” and she turned and walked out of the office.
Bette sat down in Angie’s chair and looked again at the painting. Given the interest that it had apparently generated, she still felt that she did the right thing. Sure, Angie would be angry with her, but she would get over it and realize that Bette was only doing what she thought was best.
Tina walked out to the main gallery and set off to find Angie. She spotted her talking to a man near a painting and made her way over. Waiting until Angie had finished with the client, she then proceeded to speak in a hushed voice “Ang, are you OK?”
Angelica looked at her Mom with tears threatening to fall……”How could she do that? I specifically said no, and she just went ahead and did it anyway.”
Tina put her arm around her daughter and gave some quiet advice. “I don’t know Ang, but tonight is not the time to deal with Mama B….your show is doing really well and everyone is excited about the artwork on display…..just enjoy the rest of your evening
and we will deal with Mama B later…..OK? Don’t let this allow you to lose sight of how successful this evening has been. You have created quite a buzz with this show.”

So happy to see this post. Bette is in deep ca-ca with Angie but they will work out their problems. Lynds has a lot of explaining to do to her parents and she should do it quickly and not wait as Tina advised, since she does know whereof she speaks. Lynds would be very wise to talk with Tina and gain a perspective that would take years for her to learn and experience. Bette is in deep ca-ca with Tina also but we know that everything will be worked out in the bedroom with those two after much talking and apologizing. Great chapter. PPS
Great update
Safe to say Bette probably is in the dog house with Tina tonight! Can’t wait to see their next conversation. Lynds is wise to confide in Tina. Tina’s been in her position and can give her better perspective. Great update. PPS
Bravo Taz, take a bow, this is an incredible story with some pretty bendy roads. Thank you, Md
I don’t think theirs a dog house big enough to hold Bette at this point. Her daughter is pissed at her, and you know Tina isn’t going to let it go. Angie, just needs to go be with Lyndsay. Love Tina’s advice. Hopefully Lyndsay’s faimly will be as understanding as they’ve raised her when it comes to their daughter.
Tazzie!!! I’ve been waiting for you to post so I could give you the official comment! I was happy to receive this in my In Box the morning of my birthday, and have waited to share my thoughts. Girl, you have a whirlwind of things happening all at once, and you are keeping everything tied together so well. I LOVED the connection between David and Tina and the surprise it brought to Bette, to Lyndsay, to Angie…not to mention to even Tina who was surprised to learn David was Lyndsay’s father! Bette is in a world of POO for disregarding her daughter’s wishes. Angie is old enough to make her own decisions, and like it or not if it is a mistake to be made it is Angie’s to make. The air was thick for sure, and one could cut it with a knife. I love your writing, and am looking forward to your next update! {{HUGS}}
I really enjoy this tale that you are weaving. Look forward to more when you have time.
Such a delight to have this story continue to unfold with its many surprises. I look forward to your next post.
Hey, Tazie! Great update, sweetie. We just love how you are unveiling this story to us. We are amazed by the creativity and freshness of your characters. You know we are totally hooked, huh? PPS Lucero & Marsha (JC’s Salsa Aunties)

I’ve been looking for another post of this great story…thanks for posting and PPS.
Yay a new chapter from Taz. Thanks friend. Loook forward to the next one.
Yep…Bette’s in the deepest of ca ca that’s for sure. And Tina’s not too happy with her either…maybe she’ll be sleeping on the couch tonight. Great update Taz…thanks!

I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy that you had time to post another chapter, and what a chapter. Yes Bette is in DEEP do-do with her family, and is so far in the “Dog House” that the dog walked out og the house LOL. I know that B&T will work things out, but Bette will probably appologise to Lyndsay before she is able to make peace with Anglica. A GREAT chapter Taz, PPS :o).
