“I don’t know Dad. I like it as just a hobby….that way there is no pressure to produce anything specific. I get to paint when I want and what I want. There are no timelines, no expectations. If I don’t like how one turns out, it’s not a big deal. There are no financial implications involved.”
“Honey, if you gave that particular painting to Angelica as a gift, how did it end up being displayed in the gallery?”
“I don’t know for sure, but I have a feeling that Angie’s Mom had something to do with it.”
“Chrissy? But she seemed as surprised as you that it was on display.”
“No…..not Tina, Bette. Angie has two Mom’s. Tina is married to Bette.”
“I’ve known Better Porter for a long time. I remember buying artwork from her own gallery when I first started my collection. Wait, you mean Tin……Chrissy is gay? ”
“Yeah Dad…..she is.”
“But how……when?………I mean I dated her back in high school…..I just don’t……”
“Dad……does it really matter how or when? She seems like a very nice person, so it should not matter who she is married to, or what her preference is……should it?”
David looked at his daughter. He and his wife had always taught her to be accepting of people’s differences, open minded and non judgmental in her views.
“Yes….of course you are right, I’m not sure what I was thinking. This evening has turned out to be full of surprises.”
“Dad, if you really want to see the other paintings then the next time you and Mom come for a visit I will show them to you. You can pick out whatever paintings you want and have them.”
“OK Lyndsay, I’ll drop the subject for now, but I really think you should consider showing your work. There were many people tonight who had the same reaction I did to your painting……you have a talent that should be shown, not hidden in a storage locker.”
“Dad…please……I have no interest in being a commercial artist.”
Knowing that his daughter could be stubborn in her own right, he backed off, “OK sweetie, I’ll stop pushing…….for now, but I really think we should discuss this another time.”
“Thank you, and maybe one day we will, but like I said, it’s just a hobby.”

So happy to see this post. Bette is in deep ca-ca with Angie but they will work out their problems. Lynds has a lot of explaining to do to her parents and she should do it quickly and not wait as Tina advised, since she does know whereof she speaks. Lynds would be very wise to talk with Tina and gain a perspective that would take years for her to learn and experience. Bette is in deep ca-ca with Tina also but we know that everything will be worked out in the bedroom with those two after much talking and apologizing. Great chapter. PPS

Safe to say Bette probably is in the dog house with Tina tonight! Can’t wait to see their next conversation. Lynds is wise to confide in Tina. Tina’s been in her position and can give her better perspective. Great update. PPS

I don’t think theirs a dog house big enough to hold Bette at this point. Her daughter is pissed at her, and you know Tina isn’t going to let it go. Angie, just needs to go be with Lyndsay. Love Tina’s advice. Hopefully Lyndsay’s faimly will be as understanding as they’ve raised her when it comes to their daughter.
Tazzie!!! I’ve been waiting for you to post so I could give you the official comment! I was happy to receive this in my In Box the morning of my birthday, and have waited to share my thoughts. Girl, you have a whirlwind of things happening all at once, and you are keeping everything tied together so well. I LOVED the connection between David and Tina and the surprise it brought to Bette, to Lyndsay, to Angie…not to mention to even Tina who was surprised to learn David was Lyndsay’s father! Bette is in a world of POO for disregarding her daughter’s wishes. Angie is old enough to make her own decisions, and like it or not if it is a mistake to be made it is Angie’s to make. The air was thick for sure, and one could cut it with a knife. I love your writing, and am looking forward to your next update! {{HUGS}}

I am SOOOOOOOOOO happy that you had time to post another chapter, and what a chapter. Yes Bette is in DEEP do-do with her family, and is so far in the “Dog House” that the dog walked out og the house LOL. I know that B&T will work things out, but Bette will probably appologise to Lyndsay before she is able to make peace with Anglica. A GREAT chapter Taz, PPS :o).
