All I wanted to do all day long was kiss you. Please tell me if u don’t want me to. Chapter–three

    Bette’s pov

-The sound of my door closing, made me stop and turn around. Candace was walking toward me. She stops when she sees me thinking.

    "What’s wrong?"

"My cell phone. I think I left it."

Candace laughs and looks down at my hands. I felt insulted for a second until I followed her gaze.

    "Shit. It’s in my hand."

"Someone’s stressed. You need a break."

    "I’m fine."

How could I have been so stupid? That was pure pathetic. I’m glad that Alice isn’t here. She would have blown that up to be bigger than supposed.

On the way toward the conference room, I over heard Franklin talking with some woman. Before I entered, I decided to stand by the door and listen some more. This could be interesting.

    "Is she stuck up?"

"No. Of course not. Bette’s…Bette’s…She’s just Bette."

My face bunched up into a frown. I can’t believe he couldn’t say one nice thing about me. Was I really that bad? My co-workers think I’m remarkable.

    "What does that mean?"

"It mean, she’s…she’s…she’s loyal and honest. She’s a hardworking woman. Very dedicated to her work."

Smiling, I catch my breath and straight blush. His words warmed my heart. It was about time he came to terms with himself. I was his best and most trusted worker.

    "Honestly?"

    "I swear."

"Wonderful. I look forward to working with her."

Smiling still, I knock twice before opening the door. Stepping inside and closing the door, I was greeted by this unfamiliar face and Franklin himself.

"Bette, I’d like you to meet Helena Peabody."

"Hello, Helena. Are you kin to Peggy Peabody?"

"Yes. She’s my mother. A pain in my–"

    "Helena, please! Let’s proceed."

    "Right."

My eyes paced from Franklin to Helena’s. Was she about to say what I thought she was going to say? Wow! Someone has a personal vendetta against Peggy.

    This could be interesting. Very.

    "Let’s sit down."

    "Good idea Bette."

Together, we all found a seat and sat down. The view of the sun shining down on Los.Angeles made me smile. I was excited and thrilled to be working on another project.

    1. Hey, this is an interesting story cutefacethickwaist, and I really wanna know where you’re gonna take us with this. Will Bette find the courage to tell Tina what is going on in your story ? Well, I sure hope so… Anyway, nice job ! Please keep posting !

    2. Great writing – please get B&T talking – they need each other. I always felt that Bette’s character was the first one that was ripped to shreads on the show. She would never have let her life fall apart like IC wrote it…Bette’s character was originally portrayed as a strong, brave and loyal woman that would take her committments and beliefs to her death. She never would have lost everything she loved to a ‘fling’ like they portrayed her to have done on the show. She also would have never taken a man to her and Tina’s bed – that one was really off base IC! OK…sorry…I’m done ranting for now! Anyway, thanks for writing CFTW!
