    Bette – Umm … Yamashiro? I haven’t been there in a while.

    David – Wonderful! I’ll see you on Thursday, then.

    Bette – Great! (pause) Uh … David?

    David – Yes?

    Bette – Umm … regarding your party … I wonder if you are inviting a client of mine.

    David – Yes? Who?

    Bette – He is an entertainment lawyer by the name of Eric Moore.

    David – Eric?! I have met him. Would you like me to invite him?

    Bette – Well … yes, if you don’t mind.

    David – No, of course not! Eric is an intelligent young man.

    Bette – And I believe he has a new girlfriend … Tina … something like that.

    David – I will add them to my list.

    Bette smiles.

    Bette – Thank you, David!

    David – Welcome, my dear! I’ll see you on Thursday!

    Bette – See you! Bye!

    She hangs up and grins.

     

    Chapter 4  Nice And Easy

     

    Tina’s apartment, night: Tina is having dinner when her phone rings. She stands up and answers the call.

    Tina – Hellooo!

    Woman – Hi, Belle!

    The blonde grins.

    Tina – Hi, Goldie!

    Goldie – What are you and Eric doing this weekend?

    Tina presses her lips together.

    Tina – Goldie, this Southern Belle is really busy lately!

    Goldie – It’s OK! This Gold Rush has rushed all week!

    The blonde laughs.  

    Goldie – But you must have a couple of free hours this weekend, right?

    Tina – We haven’t made plans yet, Meg.

    Meg – Great, let’s play tennis at the club on Saturday! Brad wants to play doubles!

    Tina – Hmm …

    The blonde shrugs.

    Tina – OK!

    She smiles.

    Days later

    LA restaurant, afternoon: Bette and David are having lunch together.

    David – These two artists are quite young but I believe that they are of interest to you.

    He hands her a piece of paper.

    David – I told them about your work with new artists and they were very excited!

    2. I like this story. Tina is beginning to see her dissatisfaction with Eric. And Meg? She wants Tina to marry someone to be friends with her husband so she can have time to talk to her BFF? That’s a bit selfish isn’t it? Hopefully Meg is a better friend than that. Well can’t wait to see how this acquaintance between Bette and Tina goes.

      Wonderful story, and a very nice chapter.

      I see how hard Tina is fighting her homosexuality and attraction for Bette, that happens many, many times, and can go good for open-mind people who decide to live their lives and be honest with themselves without hiding from the rest of the world, and it can go bad for the ones who decide to live a double life or even worst to fight the ones that had the strength of coming-out.

      Anyway, Tina is in a ‘spiral collision course’ with her destiny, the future love of her life.

      Nice move Bette, so smart to invite Eric and Tina, Bette is cornering the blonde, and let’s see or rather, read what you will write in your next chapter.
