    Bette’s fate is tested…

    Franklin turns to Peggy

    Franklin: Peggy is there anyway that we can put an end to this mess. Honestly I don’t want Bette to leave if anything I would like for her to remain with the CAC for as long as she like

    Helena: You *****

    Helena storms over to Bette…Bette rises from her chair…Franklin jumps up just in time to stop Helena dead in her tracks…Peggy Peabody rises as well…She walks over to Helena and places her hands on her arms

    Peggy: Helena you are through

    Helena: What?

    Peggy: You heard me. I can’t allow you to mess up anyone’s lives any longer. I passed on the family foudation to you in hoping that you could make a difference like I did. There is always trouble where you go. Tomorrow you will be on a plane back to New York and I will resign your name from under mine.

    Helena: Mommy please don’t

    Peggy: I’m sorry but I can’t allow you to hold on to the family name. You are making me look bad. This was your last stop here and that’s it. Now wipe your face and leave now. I want you to go home and pack your bags because you are leaving first thing in the morning

    Helena’s face is flushed…You could have sworn that she would have a heart attack right there at that very moment…She wipes her face and fixed her suit…She then leaves the office…They all watch her go as Peggy and Franklin take their seats again at the table…Bette sits down as well

    Peggy: Ok now that we have that out of the way

    She turns and looks at Bette…She has tears in her eyes…That is the first time that Franklin ever stuck up for her..She like it…She likes it alot

    Franklin moves to another seat closer to Bette’s…He places his hand on top of hers

    Franklin: Don’t worry Bette it’s over. You will have your job. You will be able to provide for you family. It’s ok I already know

    Peggy places her hand on top of Franklin’s

    Peggy: You ok?

    Bette: Yes. I thought that was it. I thought it was over.

    Peggy: No Bette it ain’t over until he says it’s over. Ok?

    Bette: Yes

    2. A good chapter but it doesn’t respond to all my questions. Even “actions speak louder than words”, sometimes words are needed. I’ll be happy to hear Bette says to Candace “I don’t want” and seing don’t let Candace touch and kiss her. It’s too easy for Bette or is it a game for her ? To let Candace touch her and kiss her because she was scared, I don’t believe that. She was not alone in the CAC. She could push away Candace. And Bette didn’t say to Tina all what happened in her office. I don’t know why but I have not faith in this Bette.
      Anyway your story is very good even I’m not OK with this Bette. Thank you to write it.

    6. good story and really like the way Peggy comes flying to B’s rescue (again) but I wonder for how long is this ‘happy’ scene going to last. I cant imagine you are going to let hellish hellana leaves in good grace and candy c being restrained. i guess like all the rest of the stories, there will be a disaster lurking, someone get hurt, end up in hospital etc and going through the whole drama – life is such that there cant be any harmony and peace for two loving people.

    9. Oh wow. You brought tears to my eyes. Whooo. That was intense. So, Bette’s getting a restraining order? I’m glad to see she’s taking a pro-active stance with this Candance semi-stalking stuff. Bette kept her job and that scene with Franklin brought tears to my eyes too. She really thought she would be out of a job. That had to be intense. I just really love this story. I hope now Bette can think and get Candance really out of her life and I’m so happy she was honest with Tina. That’s the new Bette vs. the old Bette. So glad she was able to share her worries and that Tina was there to comfort her and hold her as she cried. Moving on to the next one….

    10. Damn Peggy is awesome and damn she kick Helena’a ass just like a ball. I like when Helena ask Peggy what are she doing here and I want Peggy to say “oh I just want to kick your ass that’s what I’m doing here” that is so funny about Helena scare of her mother. Ok about Candace, man she crazy and glad Bette got the the polic about her and hope she gone forever. Post soon, thanks! Great chapter!
