    Bette’s fate is tested…


    Bette gets up from the chair…She adjusts her suit…She looks at herself in the mirror and makes sure everything is in check…She opens the door and closes it behind her self as she heads to the conference room…Today will be the day when she will find out if Monday will be her last day…

    CONFERENCE ROOM

    Bette arrives at the conference room…She takes a deep breath before she opens the door…The door opens…Bette enters the room and Helena and Franklin both look up at her…Helena has a smile on her face while Franklin doesn’t smile at all…

    Bette: Good morning Franklin good morning Helena

    Bette takes a seat at the head of the table

    Franklin: Good morning Bette

    Helena: Bette

    Bette observes the folder in front of Frankin she knows that the folder contained her information

    Bette: So Franklin you wanted to see me

    Franklin: Yes

    Helena: Well actually I did. You see the reason why you was called was because we are revising your contract and well we decided to buy it out instead of you finishing the rest of your time

    Bette: Well-

    Bette is cut off as the door swings open…Peggy Peabody enters the room…Helena’s mouth drops

    Helena: Mommy what are you doing here?

    Peggy Peabody: Is that a trick question or are you trying to see how far you can get over on me before I put an end to your career

    Helena: Mommy you wouldn’t do that

    Peggy Peabody: Don’t test me Helena don’t because in the end you will lose

    Peggy takes a seat at the table

    Peggy Peabody: Franklin what is this that I hear that you are trying to fire Bette Porter

    Franklin thinks about what he is going to say before he talks

    Franklin: Well Peggy this whole idea was Helena’s. She wanted Bette’s contract to be bought out and you know what.

    Peggy: What?

    Franklin: I don’t think that it should be allowed

    Helena is furious she rises from her seat tossing the chair behind her onto the floor

    Helena: You traitor

    Frankin: Excuse me. I am a traitor huh the whole time that you have been here it has been a mess. Bette never has problems with turning things in until you got here. And here I am thinking that you was out the help the CAC when you were out to help yourself

    2. A good chapter but it doesn’t respond to all my questions. Even “actions speak louder than words”, sometimes words are needed. I’ll be happy to hear Bette says to Candace “I don’t want” and seing don’t let Candace touch and kiss her. It’s too easy for Bette or is it a game for her ? To let Candace touch her and kiss her because she was scared, I don’t believe that. She was not alone in the CAC. She could push away Candace. And Bette didn’t say to Tina all what happened in her office. I don’t know why but I have not faith in this Bette.
      Anyway your story is very good even I’m not OK with this Bette. Thank you to write it.

    6. good story and really like the way Peggy comes flying to B’s rescue (again) but I wonder for how long is this ‘happy’ scene going to last. I cant imagine you are going to let hellish hellana leaves in good grace and candy c being restrained. i guess like all the rest of the stories, there will be a disaster lurking, someone get hurt, end up in hospital etc and going through the whole drama – life is such that there cant be any harmony and peace for two loving people.

    9. Oh wow. You brought tears to my eyes. Whooo. That was intense. So, Bette’s getting a restraining order? I’m glad to see she’s taking a pro-active stance with this Candance semi-stalking stuff. Bette kept her job and that scene with Franklin brought tears to my eyes too. She really thought she would be out of a job. That had to be intense. I just really love this story. I hope now Bette can think and get Candance really out of her life and I’m so happy she was honest with Tina. That’s the new Bette vs. the old Bette. So glad she was able to share her worries and that Tina was there to comfort her and hold her as she cried. Moving on to the next one….

    10. Damn Peggy is awesome and damn she kick Helena’a ass just like a ball. I like when Helena ask Peggy what are she doing here and I want Peggy to say “oh I just want to kick your ass that’s what I’m doing here” that is so funny about Helena scare of her mother. Ok about Candace, man she crazy and glad Bette got the the polic about her and hope she gone forever. Post soon, thanks! Great chapter!
