    A Slow Dance – Chapter 2

    Tuesday

Eric knocked on the door to Tina’s apartment, adjusting his tie slightly as he waited for his girlfriend to answer the door. He couldn’t believe that Bette asked them to one of her artists’ dinners. This was a huge step in acquiring the contacts he so intensely desired. With Bette on his side of the court, he would automatically win the respect and admiration of several of his peers. His smile quickly faded as he saw the woman behind the door.

There Tina stood in a pair or dark denim jeans and a bra. As ***** as it was, Eric couldn’t get past the fact that she wasn’t ready. He began, "Tina, why aren’t you ready? We have to be at Bette’s gallery in forty-five minutes. What’s going on?"

Tina headed back to her room, motioning for him to follow. He quickly closed the door and walked back to her room. When he saw the carnage that lay before him, his mouth hung wide open in shock.

Clothes were strewn everywhere. A mountain of Versace, Kenneth Cole, Prada, and Dolce & Gabbana lay limp on the bed as if the style wars had finally begun, and everyone was losing. Eric let out a small sound of disbelief as he slowly crept into the room, careful not to disturb any of the crime scene.

"Baby," He said, his words quickly leaving him as he continued to watch her rifle through her wardrobe, "What’s going on?"

Tina picked up a black pinstripe suit and quickly discarded it, glancing down at a creme colored pants suit. "I can’t decide what to wear. This whole thing is stressing me out way more than it should be." Tina wondered whether or not she should have ever taken Bette up on the offer. She had no idea why she was so nervous about the dinner. Probably because everyone that attends these things knows more about art than God.

"I see that." Eric picked up a stray blouse and let the smooth silk run through his fingers like water. "You want any help?"

"No, I’m good." She picked up a slinky black dress and decided that it would be fine. She stripped quickly before she changed her mind, slipping the dress over her bare torso and adjusting it to fit snugly against all her curves.

    1. Read your bio and just wanted to let you know that yes, the love of your life IS out there. You are still very young with a lot of life left to live. You will find them, (her, him), the time frame is the only question.

    2. fantastic story so far. this is so well written; it blows most other stories out of the water. and it is probably the most enjoyable b/t beginning ive read yet. keep up the good work.
