Chapter 24

It was Wednesday and Tina was sitting on couch with her books going over notes for her Editing final, Shane was sitting on the opposite couch trying to cram for her English Lit. final.

“Shit, Tina I’m going to fail this final I’m looking at all this and nothing makes sense to me”

“That’s because you spend all your time at parties playing bodyguard to your hot girlfriend” Tina laughed

“Oh, and you drink way too much, are out way too late and have sex way too much” Tina smirked

“Not that I’m jealous” Tina added

“Not much you’re not” Shane said

“Don’t be hater, just because you haven’t got laid in over a month” Shane chuckled

Tina threw a cousin at her best friend.

“Thanks for rubbing it in, and reminding me of my sexual frustrations”

“So how did Bette take the news that you weren’t going to be able to fly down this weekend?”

 Tina took a deep breath.

“Surprisingly well”

“You sound almost disappointed”

“No no it’s not that really, It’s just that sometimes I feel like I miss her more than she misses me.  Shane I miss her so much sometimes it takes all my will power not just hop on a plane and show up at her place, you don’t know how many times I’ve thrown shit in a bag ready to just go on a whim, but logic takes over and well I continue wishing I was with her and not here thinking about wanting to be with her, does that make sense to you?” Tina asked

“Yup it does” Shane nodded

“You know I wanted to make this birthday for her special, she’s always taking me to these really nice places treating me like a princess and well I was planning ona special spa weekend for she’s been working so hard, I bought myself this real sexy lingerie, oh and I was able to buy those Kiki Smith paintings that she loved so much after much negotiating with the galley owner I was able to get them at a very good deal. I know she’s going to flip when I’m finally able to give them to her.”
