Tina: “Bette….I think you should think about this…give it another day or two…I smell something…and it stinks”

Bette: “maybe your coming down with a cold sweetie…”

Tina: “I’m not sick Bette…and don’t pull that stunt on me…I’m no fool”

Bette: “I have to go”

Bette takes off towards the door…she opens it and Tina closes it…she stands in front of it and says…

Tina: “listen…I know we haven’t been together that long…and maybe I’m out of my place at the moment…but…Bette I think your making a big mistake…please…just think about it…give it another day…whose to say that she isn’t lying to you…she fed you a cheap line and you took it…types of things happens like this all the time…this is college…babe….you don’t know her to lend her that type of money…how much that will be a mystery…but I think you should wait..watch and see…did she show any documents stating that her check bounced?”

Bette: “no…she didn’t…”

Tina: “okay…ding!…ding! ..ding!…ladies and gentlement we have a loser…babe…come back to bed…please?”

Bette gazes down into Tina’s eyes…she shook her head and said…

Bette: “okay…come on”

Tina smiled and lead the brunette back to bed…

Yale University: Bette’s apartment…that afternoon..

Bette just came from Tina’s…she entered her room and retrieved her cell…she called Melvin…

Melvin: “hello”

Bette: “hey daddy…it’s me”

Melvin: “hello Elizabeth…did you get the money I wired you?”

Bette: “no…it’s still there..I never picked it up…”

Melvin could tell by the sound of Bette’s voice…that something must be wrong…he says…

Melvin: “what happened?”

Bette: “Tina happened daddy…I told her this morning what I was gonna do…and best to believe she gave me her two cents…”

Melvin laughed…and said…

Melvin: “good…someone’s has to get to you young lady…you can be very stubborn sometimes”

Bette: “yeah…I could…I’m just happy that she’s here daddy…I would of probably made a big mistake…why didn’t you say anything?”

Melvin: “because regardless of what I say Elizabeth…you have to decide what’s best for you…I can only guide you for so long until you push and take off on your own…one things for sure…atleast you found someone that you can grow with”

Bette blushes over the phone…she says…

Bette: “yeah..your right..god she is smart and she doesn’t play…once her foot’s down…that’s it”

Melvin: “she reminds me of your mother…she didn’t play either…that woman can hold her own…hmm…those were the days…”

Bette: “yeah…they were..”

Melvin: “Elizabeth Tina seems like a nice girl…I wanna meet her…can you see if she can some home for Christmas?”

Bette: “I don’t know daddy…she has a family back home”

Melvin: “well ask and see…that’s the only way you’ll find out”

Bette: “true..I will…I’ll see if she wanna go…can Shane and Alice come too?”

Melvin: “sure…I’d love to welcome your friends to our home…”

Bette: “great…I’m gonna go ask them now”

Melvin: “okay…take care Elizabeth…I love you”

Bette: “I love you too daddy…”
