3…2…1… ch 5

Alice and Dana burst through the door.

“That was quick.” Bette said. 

“Well buying them was the easy part. Installing them is gonna be the hard part I think.” Alice said. 

Bette, Alice and Dana walked outside. 

“So does anyone know how to install car seats?” Alice asked. 

“No but it can be that hard.” Bette handed Peyton to Alice. 

“Um Bette I think you have the diaper on backwards. Aren’t the pictures supposed to go in the front.” Alice held Peyton up. 

Parker giggled from the porch.

“I don’t know.” Bette pulled Patrick’s seat out of the box. 

Dana took the seat from Bette and quickly had it buckled into the backseat then moved on to Peyton’s seat.

Bette watched in awe. “How do you know how to do that?” She asked. 

“It’s really not hard. I used to babysit all the time” Dana said after clicking the seat belt. 

“Oh.” Bette opened the third and final box. 

“I never knew you used to babysit.” Alice said. 

“See you don’t know everything about me now do you.” Dana smiled. 

“That’s a first.” Bette laughed. 

“Ha Ha very funny.” Alice sulked. Parker laughed loudly. 

“The crazy lady looks like Patrick when you take a toy away from him.” She said. 

“You might want to leave the crazy lady alone before her head explodes.” Bette said. 

“Hey kiddo come seat here so we make some adjustments.” Dana smiled at her. 

“Okay” Parker ran over to her and sat patiently while Dana moved the straps up and the back. 

“All done.” Dana said. Parker got up and walked over to the steps where Bette was standing with Patrick on her hip and grinned at Alice.

“I like Dana she not crazy at all.” She stuck her tongue out at Alice. Alice reciprocated with her tongue. 

“Okay you two that’s enough.” Bette stifled a laugh. 

“All right let’s go. You’re gonna be late.” Dana said. 

“Will you go with us?” Bette asked. 

“Sure.” Dana said. 

“What about me?” Alice said. 

“Sorry Al, there’s no room in the car.” Dana said. 

“Why don’t you follow us in your car?” Bette said. 

“Okay.” Alice said happily. 

“The crazy lady is going?” Parker asked. 

“Yes.” Bette sat Patrick in his seat. “Now come on we’re probably gonna be late as it is.” Bette said. 

Parker climbed in over her brother and sat in her seat. Dana buckled her seat and Bette buckled Peyton and shut the door. 

“Don’t forget the diaper bag.” Dana said. Bette ran in and grabbed the files and the diaper bag. 

“I’ll follow you guys.” Alice said. 

“Okay.” Dana got in the car and pulled off.
