Spencer was laid back in her bed again.

She glanced to the alarm clock on the bedside table and read the bright red 2.25. Her mind was once again running on over drive. Today had been so hectic and tiring yet she just couldn’t get to sleep

She thought back to the earlier conversation, she can’t say it went exactly as planned. Her dad was his normal lovable self understanding the whole situation and offering his condolences and support telling Spencer if Ashley needed to talk to someone about her ordeal he was there or he could arrange someone detached from the situation, Ashley just had to give the nod.

Her mother though, it had started off with disgust, Ashley keeping the child at such a young age, then anger that Ashley had dragged Spencer into the mess, then concern for her daughters well fare and then eventually after a lot of talking Paula had reached the stage of understanding. Feeling sympathy for Ashley for being placed in the situation and although she didn’t admit it Paula felt respect for Ashley for taking on such a huge responsibility.

Spencer smiled to herself as she remembered her mothers words

“I know Ashley and I have never seen eye to eye but iv come to the conclusion that this topic just isn’t up for discussion with you, and although I will always hope you will find a nice boy to settle down with, im not stupid and I can see how much you care for Ashley.

This is your decision to make, but remember your only young you have a whole life ahead of you and being in a relationship which had a child is a huge responsibility,  but if its Ashley you really want to be with then both me and your father will support you and help in anyway we can.

Spencer had waited so long to hear those words, the feeling of being accepted was overwhelming to say the least, and although she made out she didn’t care what her mom thought deep down she really did.

For the first time since the move to LA Spencer actually felt like life was turning out perfect. As she closed her eyes and imagined the possible scenarios for the future and as she felt herself drifting into a peaceful slumber she thought of the ultra sound that was approaching and with a smile on her face and a twinge in her heart she eventually fell asleep
