You Don't Know Me – (Chapter: Maybe We Should Just Be Friends…Or Not)

    chapter 11

I just got off of punishment today. When I got back that night from dropping Ashley off my mom was pissed. See every now and then she tries to be a good mom. So this week she’s making sure I focus on my studies. And because I broke my curfew even after she extended it and I’ve been late to school the last couple of weeks. She decided a good punishment would be to take my car keys, phone and I had to go straight home from school everyday. She drove me to school the rest of the week and I couldn’t go out the whole weekend. I haven’t talked to Ashley, I tried to call her from Michelle’s cell a couple of times while we were at school but she didn’t pick up.

My mom got a new assignment at work, so she’s off my case for now. I got my phone back this and I notice that Ashley had called me a couple of times at the beginning of the week. I hope she doesn’t think I’m ignoring her or something. Anyway I just walked into Pop Mills diner. I walk up to the counter. Ashley has her back to me writing something down. When she turns around and looks in my direction, she does a double take. I smile at her and wave.

“Hey.” I say taking a seat on a stole. Ashley looks at me for a second longer then walks over and leans her elbows on the counter.

“Where’ve you been?” I open my mouth to respond when some guy at the end of the counter, says he needs some help. Ashley signals to him one minute then turns back to me. “I get a break and like thirty minutes. Can we talk then?” I nod my head yes and she goes off to help that man.

Ashley and I are standing on the side of the diner. We’ve been out here for five minutes and neither one of us has said a word. It’s weird because before we either dove right into conversation or make out and right now, we’re not making any efforts to do either.

“So I guess you made up your mind. You don’t want to see me no more?” I look up from my hands when Ashley speaks.

    1. i kind of agree with spencer if ash isn’t willing to put herself out there and answer questions maybe they shouldn’t be friends but i don’t want that to happen i want them together

    2. I always look foward to the next chapter of this story. But I think its about time that Ash just comes out and says what shes been holding back from Spence. She has a right to know what is going on. Hopefully soon and then they can be together. Great Job! PMS!
