You Can Put The Blame On Me – (Chapter: It's like I'm taking 5 steps forward and 10 steps back, tryin to get ahead of the game, but I can't seem to get it on track)

I stayed silent for a few seconds before speaking. “My name is…” I paused trying to think of a name.

“I have a gun, don’t lie to me.” She said, obviously knowing what I was trying to do.

“My name is Spencer.” I said in defeat.

“Well it’s nice to meet you Spencer. I always liked boy’s names for girls.” She said as she rummaged my pockets again. This time she took my credit card.

“There, you’ve taken everything I have. Can I go now?”

She looked at me again, up and down, up and down. She released me and took a step back. “You can go.” She began walking away and I just watched. I didn’t know why I was staying there and just watching her. I had to force myself to turn away. I glanced at her as she began crossing the street and then I turned and began to walk away.

Before I even took my second step, I heard the squealing of tires and the sound of a metal hitting something else behind me. I turned around and saw a black Mercedes driving away. I looked at the ground and saw the brunette on the ground. I hesitated with shock. I just stared before walking to her. There was blood in and around her mouth, her eyes were closed. The gun was still in her loose hand.

I reached my hand into her pocket and took my cell phone. The fact that she had robbed me was beside the point. She needed help serious help. I turned around and felt something grab my ankle. My phone flew to the ground and I looked beneath me to see her hand on my ankle. She was coughing. “You’re going not going to call the cops.” She choked out.

“I was going to call an ambulance.” I said before yanking my ankle from her grip. She lifted her gun and pointed it at me. I was no longer scared. She cocked the gun and aimed it. “Go ahead and shoot me. I don’t care. Do you really want to die out here?” She kept the gun pointed at me. I began slowly walking towards my phone, the gun followed me. “Do it” I said. “Just fucking do it!”
