    She made a date, she got anxious, and she got pissed

    “That’s awesome! I’m so happy for you, seriously. It’s great you guys are making progress.”

    “Thanks. Just don’t tell Gideon. I don’t think he’s ready to hear about it.”

    The decision to take separate cars to Spencer’s first psychiatrist appointment was a good idea to Ashley, in theory. Despite coming to a civil relationship with Paula, she could only imagine what the woman was saying about her to her girlfriend at the moment.

    Mr. Carlin had assured her that his estranged wife no longer believed that she was at fault for the events on Saturday night, but she knew that that was a bold faced lie, or that he let his love for the conniving harpie blind him from the obvious. The civility was appreciated but the undercurrent of dislike wasn’t lost to her because Ashley Davies was pretty damn adept when it came to reading people. The fake smiles and better attitude was a ploy of some sort to win Spencer and Arthur over again. She played the same game with every man whore her mother brought home. With all of her experience, she could’ve written the book on it if Adrianna Davies hadn’t done it already.

    She couldn’t help but wonder if Mrs. Carlin would take the advantage of her emotionally drained daughter to rip her ‘unnatural Lesbian relationship’ apart in every way shape or form. The fact that Spencer had been subtly freaking out in the morning worried her and she desperately wanted her girlfriend to ride with her on the way there but of course, mother superior wanted to ‘talk/bond’. The worst part was that she wouldn’t put it past the bitch to pull such a move. Paula Carlin was antithesis of everything that she saw as good in adults, and considering the vendetta the blonde seemed to have against her, she wouldn’t rule out such a sabotage of all the progress her and Spencer had made.

    Her left leg was bouncing up and down in an effort to expend some of the excess energy she had managed to work up with her mental tirade. She tried to recall the words of encouragement Dano had told her on the Thursday, “It’ll be ok firefly. Pez is strong, you’re strong, and you’ve got us. All of us.” There wasn’t a shadow of a doubt in her mind that she didn’t have to face certain aspects of the situation on her own but there were other things that no one could her hand to confront. One of them would be her unwavering guilt. She had let Spencer down so badly that night all because she let someone take precedence over the one person she cared for the most and there was nothing, absolutely nothing in this world that she could do to fix it. ‘Ugh. Fucking Paula has to be right for once, great.’
