Why Superman Could Never Find a Phone Book – (Chapter: 15: Oleanna)

A few months back, Ashley had purchased eight pounds of miniature candies with her allowance, shoving the contraband into a cooler in the basement, an act of survival, she had explained to her mother, should a bomb drop upon the city of Los Angeles and they needed the appropriate rations to survive. Evidently, the girl intended to live solely off of Smarties and mini Three Musketeers, until the army located their hideout, dragging their fat and bloated bodies out into the sunlight of the apocalypse.

Ash ran her tongue along the edges of her lips, her taste buds detecting remnants of Kool-Aid that had evidently bleached her mouth red.

Smiling widely, she glanced down at her party invitation that was stuck to the fridge with a magnet. It had taken her quite awhile to make the invitations, which she had written by hand in cursive using these expensive pens her mother had bought her unbeknownst to her worthless dad, who no doubt would have given his wife a solid backhand to the mouth, his eyes darting madly around the room, his thoughts manic over the loss of funds that clearly could have been spent on a six pack of Budweiser and a half pint of whiskey.

Having only written four invitations, one for herself and the others for Mads, Spence, and Aiden, the task did not take long, however Ash had taken her time, constructing an invite personalized to each person, despite providing the same necessary information. All of her friends had been to her house many times, however Ashley was a perfectionist and it would be utterly inappropriate and seemingly embarrassing to not specify a cross street nor a witty rhyme that was amusing, yet still hinted at danger.

Aiden had to help his dad clean out their garage, so he wouldn’t be over until a bit later.

Sadly, Madison had had to decline, her cousin’s wedding on the same day, requiring her to slip into a sexy little number and flirt with unsuspecting gentleman twice her age, who would let her sneak sips of their cocktails when Madison’s mom wasn’t looking.

It wasn’t fully the knowledge that Madison was celebrating someone else’s special day that bugged her, but the fact that no matter how hard Ashley had tried to envision this day to be only about her, she knew she would have to share it with dozens of other people.

    1. Sooo I see Spence made the first move and then she tries to make Ash feel bad, This sucks, I mean the fics amazing but man I want them to get together already. LOL keep up the great work

    2. Holy crap!! that was really, really good. Yes, this is definately an interesting side of Spence to see….both of them in the bathroom, and then Spence appearing to freak when Aiden arrived….Spence makin the first move in the shed. It’s so funny to try and picture Aiden as an out of shape dork. haha. Can’t wait to see what’s gonna happen next…or in the past…or whatever the next chapter holds.

    3. i’m speachless. which is a good thing. really really good. BEST FANFIC I have ever read. hell better then alot of books I have read and I read alot. keep posting

    4. I don’t think any comment I could leave you would truly show my appreciation for it. There is so much to say about this chapter, and really just about your writing in general that I don’t even know where to start. I’m really impressed with how creative of an individual you are. Each chapter of this story is almost completely different from the last in terms of the imagery that you use, and yet all of the chapters seem to fit together. I’ll leave you another comment on this later because a million thoughts ran through my head while I was reading this post, and I can’t remember most of them right now.
