    Drew Steele’s connection to Ashley is revealed – Things take a bumpy turn

     

                “He’s cute,” offered Drew with a grin, nudging an elbow into Ashley’s ribs, but Ashley rolled her eyes.

     

                “Son?”  Arthur asked Glen, momentarily forgetting his son had come home with an officer of the law.

     

                “DAD!  That’s Drew Steele, you know, she was on that TV show, the one I used to watch religiously every day after school?  The undercover teenage cop?  I used to drool over her like, daily!  Damn, dad, that’s like…, wow,” uttered Glen.

     

                “Ya past just keeps coming up, don’t it?”  asked Ashley with a giggle.  When she and Drew had met, Ashley had been star struck.  She’d only been four at the time, and Drew had been in TV or in movies for the better part of 14 years. 

     

                “You’re a TV star?”  Paula asked, not remembering the woman from anything she’d ever watched, then again, she’d never had much time to watch anything.

     

                “No, I’m a physician’s assistant, and also a family nurse practitioner,” corrected Drew, “I used to act, two life times ago.  Now I’m in the medical field.”

     

                “She’s Ash’s sister,” offered Spencer to the clueless Glen. 

     

                “Ya know, I knew you were hot, Ash, but now, you just jumped up a level in my book, sorry Spence,” muttered Glen.  Clay slapped his brother’s arm, keeping silent because he had known who the woman had been the minute he’d seen her.

     

                “How about the lot of you go to bed, and let the adults discuss things here?  Obviously this changes things,” stated Paula ominously.

     

                “It doesn’t change anything, Drew has a job on Africa,” Ashley began, “and I’m not going to live with my dad.  That’s final, so until we can get this whole mumbo jumbo emancipation thing taken care of…”

     

                “No, you are going to live with me,” stated Drew.  “That’s why I came back, I bought out my contract before leaving.  I saw dad tonight,” the distaste in Drew’s voice was evident, “and I told him I’d take over the payments of the house…”

     

                Ashley threw her arms around Drew, choking the woman, almost throwing them out of the chair.  “Thank you, thank you, oh my god, you are the best!”
