The Unknown Place – (Chapter: Chapter 1: “To Worry To Hurt To Love”)

It’s Tuesday today. I rub my hands over my heavily sleep drawn eyes that haven’t opened yet and have started pushing pillows aside in search of my cell phone that is never far away from my head.

Unless of course I have managed to sleep like a mad woman once again and find my self more awake than I had planned on being be leaping to pull my mattress away from the wall to search for my cell that has slid in between the wall and bed again.

I move my hand around a few times while my eyes still haven’t opened yet knocking my favorite pillow to the floor and shut them tighter and just pray that YES! it hasn’t gone far. I flip open the extremely bright screen and force it up to my face okay oww that hurt. Remind myself never to put cell phone directly in front of my waking eyes again. It’s 9:19 in the morning, I never wake up this early but my body is aching to get out of this bed this morning for some apparent reason. I tussle the sheets and blanket a little and feel a cool draft on my legs from the ceiling fan above me. It’s too cool for comfort so I throw the blanket back to cover my exposed thigh with my feet still dangling in comfort peeking out in the cool breeze. You gotta get up. You gotta get up. You gotta get…I hear a pitter patter of feet padding around outside my door. The last time I checked my roomie was out of town for the week and…there it is again, the feet, the shuffling the floor. It’s almost as if someone is pacing outside my door. In my last attempts to conjure myself up and make myself useful I throw the entire blanket and sheet of warmth away and spring up out of the bed. That’s the only thing that works when all else fails. In the words of NIKE-Just Do It! Okay that was officially one of the lamest thoughts I have had today. I stumble a bit. The chair not far from where I lunged away from the bed keeps me from toppling completely over but I did managed to send my book and a few papers I had resting on the arm of the chair dangerously flying to the floor. I instinctly shuffle to make sure I don’t greet my happy feet with a air born book hitting them. Just thinking about it makes my toes curl. Ouch.
