The Agent – (Chapter: Tired and Uninspired)

“They wanted you back because you’re good at what you do Ashley, you’re one of the best” I could tell he was only saying that to make me feel better.

I could feel bile rising up to my throat I was back on the job killing again. When on the run I had a fantasy where I wasn’t a cold blooded killer, I was happy with Spencer and we were going to run off into the sunset. I was going to have my own fairy tale ending. Too bad two bullets killed that fantasy.

Spencer, a name I didn’t want to say… a face I so desperately wanted to forget.

We were getting closer to my apartment I so badly wanted to be left alone.

    “I’ll get out here”

“Agent it’s not safe yet” I shot Aiden a look.

“Sorry…Ashley let me drop you off at your apartment. I feel better knowing you’re safe” He cared, he really did and I hated the fact that I was treating him like shit. Since coming back every time we crossed paths I could feel the guilt rising up my chest. He had a limp now and a deep scar on his beautiful face all because of me, all because in a moment of weakness he chose to help me.

“Safe? God Aiden don’t make me laugh” Aiden sighed and stopped the car so I could get out. I could see the hurt look on his face but I just couldn’t bring myself to care.

“Ashley when you’re ready to talk let me know” I rolled my eyes and nodded. I would never be ready.

The moment I got back to my apartment I undressed not bothering to pick my clothes up off the floor. I needed to shower; I needed to wash away my sins. I almost tripped over a week old bag of groceries I never bothered to unpack. Gone were the days of caring what my apartment looked like it was a mess, empty dishes in the sink, empty take out containers scattered everywhere. Food I only ordered because it reminded me of her. I had no energy to clean the place; I had no energy for anything. I stopped caring. I stopped living, I only felt sorry for myself. I was one big pity party all on my own.

    1. Thank god your back, I’ve missed this story so much. I just love it. It was so sad, Ashley still loves her, even after she almost killed her, but I blame Spencer though, how was she supposed to know if Ash was not going to kill her, even after she told her the truth. I was kind of hoping that Spencer killed Paula after she shot Ash, but no luck. I wonder where in the world could she be now ? Thanks for the update , hope to see more soon :D

    2. Jeez, I thought you’d never come back. I’m so glad that Spencer did not kill Ashley, but she sure as hell has some explaining to do. Excellent update. PMASAP!!!
