Two years passed slowly for Taylor without a word from Sam.  For about a year after she got the letter, Taylor had hope.  She waited for that phone call or the knock on her door praying that one time it’d be Sam.  After her freshman year of college came to an end, Taylor started to give up on the thought of Sam ever coming back.  Ashley wanted to kick Sam’s ass for getting her daughter’s hopes up before crashing them back down again.  Spencer just didn’t get it.  Now, Taylor had a tattoo over her heart that she could only blame on the alcohol and a heart that just wouldn’t seem to move on.  She had been getting depressed as her first semester of her sophomore year came to a close.  She held and starred at the bottle of vodka on the weekends, but she promised Spencer she’d never drive to solve her problems.  Drinking had made certain times in her parent’s first relationship really, really hard.  She didn’t want to complicate things.  Maybe going home would do her some good.  After all, it was Christmas break.  So, Taylor boarded the plane back to LA to see her overexcited parents.

"Anyone home?"  Taylor yelled pulling her luggage through the front door.

"Hey."  Spencer said as her and Ashley came walking in from the kitchen.  "How’s my college girl?"

Taylor gave her parents a look over before she answered.  They were older now, but they were both still so beautiful.  That was evident by the many women and men that still hit on both of them.  Spencer’s ice blue eyes had lost a little bit of their shine while Ashley’s rock solid abs were no longer perfect, but they still looked pretty much the same.  You could tell by the way that they looked at each other; they still saw the same sixteen year olds they first saw when they first met.  "I’m good."

"Someone called for you today.  Your Mom answered so I have no idea who it was."  Spencer said grabbing a bag to carry to Taylor’s room.

"I don’t really know, but I think it was Sam.  She asked when you’d be home, and I said today.  When I asked if I could take a message, she just said no."  Ashley said.
