“So you have a good weekend?” She asked giving me a nudge in the ribs. “I know you did…I could see your cheesy grin and love sick daze from across the quad. Bigfoot could have snuck up on you!”

“Whatever!” I said feeling the heat rise into my cheeks.

“Ohhhh! You so have to tell me what happened this weekend!!” Kaylen squealed. I looked at my watch and noticed we still had an hour and a half before class. There was no way I was going to get out of it.

So much to the delight of Kaylen I gave her the details…general details of my weekend. There was definitely some of the weekend details I wasn’t going to share with anyone!

“Wow…so are you two girlfriends or what now?” Kaylen asked

“Yes…No. I mean we really haven’t talked about being exclusive or that we are dating or anything like that really I guess.” I replied. I still wasn’t sure where we classified our selves. It was obvious that we really liked each other, but I wasn’t going to jump to any conclusions without hearing it directly from Ashley.

“You really like her don’t you?” Kaylen said. “I haven’t seen you like this about a girl since Jena.”

“She is nothing like Jena….I hope” I said quietly. “Oh, God. Kaylen what if she is? I don’t think I can take it. Maybe I am making a mistake. Shit, shit, shit!!” I blurted quickly feeling the panic rise up in me.

“Whoa, Spencer easy.” Kaylen replied putting a hand on my shoulder. “Listen I know you have been against the whole commitment thing since Jena fucked with your head. Don’t make Ashley pay for it. If you like her give her a chance before you freak out and slam on the brakes.”

“Yeah I know. It’s just been such a long time. I fell hard for Jena and look where that got me.”

“Yeah well from what you have been telling me it sounds like Ashley has had a bunch of crazy things happen in her past too. So I am sure she is probably going a lot of the same insecurities.” Kaylen said.

I nodded. I took a deep breath and let my moment of panic pass. Ashley was different. I could feel it. It was worth the risk….I was pretty sure anyway.
